  1. The multimillion-dollar homes of Australian architect Roger Wood often look like behemoth abstract sculptures rising out of their tony neighborhoods, but Mr. Wood has revealed more traditional taste in his own home.
  2. The prominent architect will auction off his private residence, a Victorian house he renovated from top to bottom, on Saturday in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, Australia. The home is expected to sell for between A$3.6 million (US$2.8 million) and A$3.85 million (US$3 million), according to the listing with agent Peter Stephens of the brokerage Nelson Alexander.
  3. Mr. Wood, who co-founded the firm Wood Marsh, has designed some of the area’s priciest homes, including the current record holder: The flying saucer-shaped Besen House, which sold in December for A$26.25 million (US$20.53 million).
  4. But unlike the architect’s contemporary creations, with irregular shapes and industrial finishes, his own home is a 150-year-old Victorian with delicate gingerbread porch trim and foliage climbing around the front door.
