  3. I've talked to too many developers who think they're on the Postman native app, but they're really not. You can use your official Postman credentials or create an account in practically no time using an existing Google account as a starting point. I wish it had support for storing information in responses as variables for use in later requests.
  4. Interesting, I'll have a look into whether that's possible with the current client my understanding was that Collections don't detect or update changes unless you explicitly make any yourself. This said, getting started with Postman requires you to undergo a hassle-free installation process, followed by a quick log-in procedure.
  5. Many Postman users believe Postman is only available as a Chrome app. If you run into any issues or have any feedback feel free to drop a comment below. What did not suit me: problems with remembering history - i'd expect the much labored-at settings and vars and options to be stored in the cloud and not vanish if I re-install the extension or use other machine. The installer didn't give me the option to select my install location or add a desktop shortcut. Click Update to download the latest update. Interesting, I'll have a look into whether that's possible with the current client my understanding was that Collections don't detect or update changes unless you explicitly make any yourself.

  7. Welcome to this new blog post series on tools that I use and recommend. For this one, I decided to start with Postman. The following entities are synced and saved to the cloud: Collections, Folders, Requests, Responses, Header Presets, Environments, Environment variables, Global variables and Collection run results. Environments Variables are symbols that can take different values. Environments are a set of key-value pairs, with the key as the variable name. Environments give you the ability to customize requests using variables. This way you can easily switch between different setups without changing your requests. You can also import collections: I use for example the that is available for the file. You might want to make the same request from an application or from your automation tool. Copy to the postman native app and use the snippet wherever you want.
