The design of this mysterious new challenge was simple. In short, complete all seven of the weekly new blockbuster skin and you'll unlock special loading screen. Within each loading screen is a clue to an additional Battle Star which can be found in the game, which also helps further boost your Season 4 Battle Pass ranking. Complete all of the Blockbuster challenges throughout the season and get yourself a special skin, which even now, at week 6, is still a complete mystery as to what it will be However, there's much more to these loading screens than acting as a simple new blockbuster skin box. You can see all of the Blockbuster Challenges revealed so far in the gallery below, but keep reading and you'll find details about why you shouldn't be looking for a hidden star in the Week 8 loading screen. Last week some players noticed that they already had the new blockbuster skin 8 loading screen. But what was more strange was that it didn't include a hidden battle star anywhere. According to the intelligent folk on the Fortnite sub-reddit, there's a very good reason why you shouldn't be trying to find a new Battle Star this week. The hidden battle stars were only intended for weeks 1- 7. That's why last week users also noticed that the special blockbuster skin unlocked after players completed seven weeks of challenges. You can take a closer look in the gallery above. There is a loading screen for week 8, 9 and 10. But it won't feature a special hidden battle star. In addition, keep reading to see the list of leaked challenges coming to the game this Thursday in Week 8. Epic Games has announced a major update to wall placement that will be coming to Fortnite in the future. Today Epic Games announced on Reddit that a monumental update to wall building will be coming in v7. The update will fix the issue of when a wall builds below or is obstructed by the ground. At the time of writing, the exact release time of the upcoming v7. You can view the complete announcement below. In addition, the connecting piece will inherit team ownership rules and the material type of the desired piece. While Fortnite introduces new challenges every new blockbuster skin, players have the course of the entire season to finish them more, for specific character challengesso to have this hard cut like this was jarring. You would imagine there would be a mercy week or something to finish up, and now there will be as Epic brings this back. Players who were unable to complete those Challenges will be able to earn all of the rewards they may have initially missed out on. If this starts say, next Monday, January 7 2019, that will give players just over a week to finish out their remaining challenges and try to earn their remaining prizes. New blockbuster skin time, Fortnite players are tasked with doing something very simple: Thank the bus driver in 11 different matches. Yesterday's challenge was to land tricks at 10 different Named Locations. The day before was to dance in front of 9 different Holiday Trees. Each day the number of things required to finish a challenge has increased to coincide with new blockbuster skin day in the 14 Days of Fortnite, meaning tomorrow we'll need to do 12 of something. That's the lower button on the left side of your controller. Tap it to thank the bus driver. You'll need to do this over the course of 11 different matches, so you'd better start now. There's only a few days left to complete these challenges and earn all the rewards. Speaking of rewards, for such an easy challenge the reward is really cool. Or cold, as the case may be. It's the return of the Search Between challenge for Fortnite: Battle Royale this week. The challenge asks us to search between three ski lodges to find a hidden battle star, so read on for a guide of where you'll need to go. Searching between three ski lodges sends us, predictably, to the new snow biome in the Southwestern corner of the map. It's where we'll find a part of the landscape littered with ski lifts as well as the three lodges we're looking for, which you can identify by the snowboards and such leaning up against there walls. The three are actually clustered together quite tightly just west of Happy Hamlet. The location you're looking for is in the cluster of trees between them. It's a little harder to find than when we used to have a nice little new blockbuster skin patch of grass to look at, so you might have to do some searching. You want to go to the northernmost tree in the cluster, just south of the northern lodge. Head to that location to grab an easy 5 battle stars, earning you half a battle pass tier. It's a pretty straightforward challenge, and one can't help but imagine Epic put it in there because it's tried and true, with no tricky implementation problems that could interfere with a much-deserved vacation. Free Challenges Search a Chest in different Named Locations 7 This particular challenge should come easy to all Fortnite players, as searching loot chests are practically necessary in order to find good gear and survive. To knock this one out, head to any of the Named Locations on the map—be it Tilted Towers, Retail Row, etc. Damage opponents with different types of weapons 5 Variety is the spice of life, and this free Fortnite challenge wants to prove as much. While it may take fans a few matches to finish, the fastest way to do so would be to dive in from the Battle Bus to high traffic spots on the map—any of the new Named Locations in the winter biome should do the trick—grab as wide of a variety of guns as possible, and then take aim at nearby opponents. The objective is to dish out damage to at least five different enemy players, and the challenge should be complete after doing so. Whatever the case may be, new blockbuster skin one is straightforward, as players will need to take out three different opponents in either Snobby Shores or Fatal Fields. Battle Pass Challenges Stage 1: Visit Snobby Shores and Pleasant Park in a single match 2 As previous staged challenges indicate, Fortnite players will be in for a few rounds completing the same activity, but at different locations. This time, one will need to hit up Snobby Shores and Pleasant Park in a single match, which should then be followed with travelling from Dusty Divo to Lonely Lodge, and then it ought to be finished off with going from Frosty Flights to Tomato Temple. Most notably are shifts for the island itself, with new ziplines scattered around and a brand-new location called Frosty Flights. The winter theme also means lots of snowy areas, which include slippery surfaces for players to contend with. As always, a new season also means a new blockbuster skin battle pass, which in turn will earn players all kinds of rewards. There are winter-themed skins, including one called Sergeant Santa, as well as a new cosmetic item called a wrap, which lets you customize vehicles. Of course, one of the biggest additions for Fortnite season 7 was actually detailed yesterday when Epic revealed a new Minecraft -style creative mode where players can design their own Fortnite experience. The launch of a new Fortnite season is typically shrouded in mystery, but this time around with Season 7 we've got a little more to new blockbuster skin with. Also, it's December: bringing snow and ice to the game is the sort of change we could have guessed at the beginning of last season, even the season before that. There are still some important questions, however, and everything we can see in the game so far is pointing towards the most dramatic transformation the map has seen yet. The biggest hint we have so far about what new blockbuster skin this change will take is the mysterious iceberg and castle slowly approaching the island. The closest analogue is the comet from Season 3: starting off in the distance and slowly moving closer. It has that same sense of silent mystery to it, that same concept of celestial inevitability. And yet when it comes down to impacting the map, it's clear that things are going to be a little different this time around. There are really two ways that this new blockbuster skin go. The fact that the iceberg is in itself a physical object raises the possibility that, we're going to get an entirely new area on the map, grafting new places to explore onto the existing island rather than replacing old ones with new points of interest. This would be a huge deal: early on, it became clear that Fortnite has hit on a kind of perfect map size for a game, where encountering other players is rare enough to get the blood pumping but not so scattered as to make the game boring. Tampering with the size of the island in any way is risky business, but would be a huge deal. The other way would be equally island-shaking. It's possible that the snow won't be contained to one section of the island but will rather coat the whole thing, marking the first map-wide transformation for this game. It would be a big deal on a visual level: all those familiar hills coated in white, snow and Christmas lights dotting the trees, maybe the odd menorah. It would also open up all sorts of gameplay possibilities, from quick-skating over ice to trudging through deep snow or zipping down the sides of hills with deployable skis. I suppose that Epic might do something a little more similar to what it did with the start of Season 5, and just have the iceberg smash into the side of the map, destroying part of it and replacing it with a new snow biome. But I doubt it: the developer has gotten bolder and more confident with every passing season, and it has yet to go those 10 weeks without upping the ante in some way. The final week of Fortnite season 6 has arrived, and before the winter storm of season 7 hits, the game is throwing a party. Well, at least according to the loading screen. The second is a set of coordinates etched on the speaker. That obviously corresponds to a chunk of the map, an area that contains a chunk of Fatal Fields and the split between the desert and the rest of the map. It also contains the spot where the Cube first appeared. You need to go to the exact intersection of all the different coordinates given, which is a spot just west of where the Cube appeared in that blackened circle that used to be a ring of cacti. This season has been interesting as we have alternated between free battle pass tiers and banners every week, which has given 10 full weeks of hidden loading screen content, as opposed to seven like we had last season. We do not know what the format will be like for season 7, but if Epic liked the way this went, we may see the same thing for the new season. Or at least those who sent him scouting will.
