  3. Actually both a 64-bit process and a 32-bit process are running, but it seems to be the 32-bit one that I'm actually interacting with. I can compare settings on the two machines but we are talking about thousands of places to look.
  4. Hope it will be helpful to you. Another question: where is Safari? Hope it will be helpful to you.
  5. Hi coremd, We would like to know whether Internet Explorer could browse other sites without issue. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact tnmff microsoft. Good luck Robert Aldwinckle ---. Not surprisingly at all, web browsers continue to have the most security vulnerabilities because they are a popular gateway to access a server and to spread malware on the clients. As for now, we would recommend you to start using Edge, Chrome or Firefox. You could check my supposing via Task Manager. I have done much of the same playing on the other machine and still can't get it to work and I still do not see the Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protection Mode as a setting to turn off. You mentioned that the browser no longer reports incompatibility issue when using compatibility mode, but the browser still reports it need 64 bit Internet Explorer. You would better contact the Cisco for further support. The first startling issue was that this machine is running Internet Explorer 8!
  6. Download IE 11 Win 7 64 - This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. All while using the less power to deliver better battery life on mobile devices.
  7. To be more specific about what I need to do. Please note, I have not run into this problem on other Windows 7 64 bit machines. There must be some other setting I am missing to get this machine to work. Hi coremd, We would like to know whether Internet Explorer could browse other sites without issue. You consideration is the issue is related to Internet Explorer 64 bit mode and you feel that Internet Explorer 64 bit cannot be launched. You could follow the steps below to check whether Internet Explorer 64 bit launched. If both of them exit, it shows Internet Explorer 64 bit works fine. We would like to suggest you use compatibility mode and inprivate mode to check the issue. You would better contact the Cisco for further support. Hope it will be helpful to you. It would appear Windows is forcing me to use the 32 bit version in this tab. How do I force it to use 64 bits Please note, I have gotten this to work on other Windows 7 64 bit machines. There must be a setting I am missing on this machine. The first startling issue was that this machine is running Internet Explorer 8. The machine I am trying to set up runs Internet Explorer 11. Thanks Hi coremd, Thank you for you reply. You mentioned that the browser no longer reports incompatibility issue when using compatibility mode, but the browser still reports it need 64 bit Internet Explorer. You could check my supposing via Task Manager. Then check if it is the 32 bit or 64 bit in Task Manager. Also, disable the add-ons in compatibility mode due to some add-ons is related to 32 bit. Wish you have a nice day. Best Regards Simon Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact tnmff microsoft. Simon Thanks for the response. First I must log into the router. I have done much of the same playing on the other machine and still can't get it to work and I still do not see the Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protection Mode as a setting to turn off. Can anyone help me figure out how to get this thing working. Hi, Thank you for your reply. I noticed the significant message in your last post. Please enable this policy and check your issue again. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact tnmff microsoft. I enabled both enhanced protection mode and Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode in both user and machine levels. Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode did not appear in Internet Options I then tried to disable both settings in both user and machine level. Again no help and again Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode did not appear in Internet Options Anything else I can try. Hi, Thank you for your reply. Please see the picture below. After you enable this policy, then disable the add-ons and check the issue again. Good luck to fix it. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact tnmff microsoft. Simon This is exactly what I did. Anything else you think I may try. By the way, I did contact Cisco. No help there at all. Hi coremd, Thank you for your reply. Internet Explorer actually run 64 bit mode in your system according to the Task Manager and group policy. You need to reinstall Internet Explorer to check the issue. Also, please compare the system settings with Internet Explorer between the two machines as you mentioned above. If you find some settings is different, just modify it according to the normal machine. In addition to that, create a new user account to check the issue. Hope it will be helpful to you. Best Regards Simon Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact tnmff microsoft. Simon Thanks again for keeping with me. Note I did this a million times already I then created a new admin user and logged in as the new user. I can compare settings on the two machines but we are talking about thousands of places to look. Again, the only difference I found before was that Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode appeared in Internet Options on the good computer it is still now showing up on the bad computer Any other suggestions or places I can look to compare both machines. Are you a Microsoft engineer. Can you get into my computer and look for yourself. Maybe there is something I did not explain properly and you need to look for yourself to see what is missing. Second issue is the difference between the Group policies: It appears everything is set the same I reset Enhanced Protection Mode and Enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode are Not Configured. Any chance you can remote to either computer and take a look. Thanks Hi, I did test in my environment. I have checked all the updates in my Windows 7 test environment and do not found this option. This option only applied to Windows 8 or later. Here is ie 11 cho win 7 64bit test in Windows 7. Here is in Windows 8. You have said that you found the option in Windows 7. Therefore, I am wondering if you capture the Internet Explorer 11 installation in Windows 8 or later and deploy it to Windows 7. Or you are not using the official installation to install Internet Explorer 11. Please download the Internet Explorer 11 from official website and install it. Good luck to fix it. I have no idea who installed the operating systems. I believe he purchased them as refurbs from Hewlett Ie 11 cho win 7 64bit so I assume they were clean installs. Is there anything else you can think of that I can try. If you have two otherwise identical cases you could compare them usefully using ProcMon traces. To see why that is happening you could then refine the filtering, e. Good luck Robert Aldwinckle --.
