  4. Oh how we laughed when this came to light!
  5. A Moscow-based firm called M-Group filed an application at the Russian patent office for the term "Bitcoin"; the application was (we're pleased to say) dismissed.
  6. The story was even confirmed Rospatent, the Russian patent office, that they dismissed an application by a Moscow-based firm which sought a patent to trademark "Bitcoin."
  7. Local news sources says the attempt was made by the company "in relation to the 36th and the 38th International Classification of Goods and Services for Finance and Telecommunications", respectively.
  8. Funnily enough Rospatent flat out denied the request, pointing out "bitcoin" is already is pretty wide use relating to an electronic system of payment and virtual currency.
  9. Well done for trying of course, but we hope that application didn't set them back too much.
