  1. CONFLICT AND GROWTH
  2. P – Most of the Conflict and Growth in the beginning of the inflation of America was caused by good decisions by our Government. (Totally different now) During these early times, the government didn’t as strictly control cities and their growth patterns, letting them more freely expand. Thus, factories and tenements were able to populate our land in no time, leaving America in both a good state and a bad state.
  3. E- With all of the growth of America, the economy took many jumps and dives. Overall, we had a very high and stable economy. Because there were so many big businesses out there and with new Mass Productions, items were able to be made cheaply and sold at rip-off prices.
  4. R- The growth of America attracted many groups of people of different religions. Many people from segregated religions fled to America for freedom. Because America is the land of the free, we allow and support that. This led to even more growth, but also conflict as different religions begin to crumble.
  5. S- With America expanding so rapidly, many businesses joined together in trusts to create a monopoly. When Businesses do this, they are able to sell their products for more money, because they have no competition. However, Rockefeller and his trusts were so successful in their Monopoly, that they were able to dramatically reduce their prices and still profit fortunes!
  6. I – What the businesses and companies did to make money was very intellectual. Mass Production uses new machinery and technology, such as electrical power. Joining each other to form a trust can cause inflation, which will benefit them. Companies overcharging for tenements make money because they are affordable, yet still overpriced. Everything these people do is intellectual, although sometimes sneaky…
