  1. Greeting
  2. Always show an open attitude with your body. It is important to be aware of your posture since it is the first contact signal you make. An immediate sign of openness is to have your chest facing the person you are meeting.
  3. Eye contact
  4. Look directly into the person’s eyes (real contact).
  5. Smile
  6. This is a good way to get the other person’s attention.
  7. Introduce yourself
  8. next comes synchronization with the body language of the other person; and
  9. this, in turn, is the step that will lead to an immediate connection.
  10. -Avoid blinking constantly – this betrays hesitation and insecurity.
  11. -Try to keep your look direct at all times, and establish eye contact with the
  12. other people; this reveals sincerity and decision.
  13. -Do not bite your lips or wet them with your tongue, because these are signs of
  14. shyness, insecurity, hesitation, and indecision.
  15. -Keep your mouth shut and lips together all the time you are listening to the
  16. other person. This shows that you are calm and self-confident. An open
  17. mouth and sagging jaw suggest nervousness, haste, astonishment or
  18. surprise.
  19. -Always keep an appropriate posture and avoid constant sudden movements;
  20. these denote discomfort, nervousness, fear, and lack of control.
  21. -Control your hand movements; keep your hands visible.
  22. - Speak in a moderate tone of voice, without hesitation. A hesitant
  23. voice transmits insecurity and shyness. It usually reveals that the person does
  24. not master the topic he is talking about or that his concepts are not firm or well
  25. defined. If you deliberately lower the tone of your voice to make the
  26. other person pay attention, you are being manipulative and showing superiority.
  27. -When speaking, always keep control of yourself, even if you are involved in an
  28. intense discussion or argument.
  29. -Find out about the cultural characteristics of the community you are going to,
  30. in order to avoid embarrassing situations (if you are a man, for example, you
  31. must be aware of the correct way to address married women).
  32. -Remember not to cross your arms over your chest because this is a definite
  33. defense posture or one of rejection.
  34. -Do not cover your mouth with your hands while you are talking; this shows that
  35. you are not telling the truth or that you feel insecure.
