1. Jerusalem in Hebrew is called Yerushalayim and al-Quds in Arabic, which is one of the oldest cities in the world. Jerusalem is nicknamed the Holy City of Three Religions. Home to the three religions of heaven, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.
2. The Al-Aqsa Mosque, which means "the furthest mosque", is a complex in the Old City of Jerusalem consisting of the Golden Dome of the Rock and the Qibly Mosque - now known as Al-Aqsa Mosque because it is closest to Qiblah in the Kaaba.
3. Al-Aqsa Mosque became one of the holy mosques of Muslims, besides the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Nabawi Mosque in Medina. The mosque in East Jerusalem also witnessed a long-running conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

8. One Jewish consecrated location is the Kotel or the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Famous as the Wailing Walls, this section is believed to be part of the remaining wall of the Temple building.
