  3. A wired connection can fix that problem if your Wi-Fi network won't cut it. Google has published case studies documenting Chromecast integration by , , and Fitnet.
  4. Design The Chromecast Ultra is a 2. Tapping the icon lets you stream whatever you're watching on the app to the Chromecast Ultra. As soon as Chromecast and your controller device connect to the same Wi-Fi, they should recognize each other and walk you through the rest of the process.
  5. And both Amazon and Roku's streamers support smartphone and tablet controls with their own apps as well, including screen mirroring. So, for example, you can't watch Luke Cage in 4K on your smartphone, but when Chromecast collects it, that's what you'll get as long as you have a subscription to the 4K service with Netflix. I use my chromecast for Netflix a lot and now that they are adding 4-8 shows that will be 4k, I think a new chromecast with hdmi 2. In July 2015, Google signed a deal with the to provide Chromecasts to voters to allow them to view of nominated media. Google has , but the functionality is pretty self-explanatory. 7. This just crossed my mind the other day and I'd love to hear all of your opinions. Do you think chrome cast 4k going to be yearly updates to the hardware of chromecast or if this is it for the next 2-3 years. Will most updates be software. Wireless ac would be nice to improve tab casting performance though. If they released an updated device with ac, I'd upgrade and give my current one away. Obviously i bought it for professional reasons but the price is dropping dramatically. Also Netflix, Youtube, Vimeo, and Amazon on Demand have promised tons of 4K content for 2014 onwards. I use my chromecast for Netflix a lot and now that they are adding 4-8 shows that chrome cast 4k be 4k, I think a new chromecast with hdmi 2. Right now, there is almost negligible market penetration of 4k. Whereas Chromecast is intended to be mass market tech, that everybody and their grandmother can use. But I think that other than that usage, 4-8 shows on Netflix is not going to drive widespread adoption. Content is king, give it time. The problem is the actual hardware. I thought the Q was amazing but way over priced. We are seeing a more affordable option of that with the chromecast but there are some issues they need to address to make it great. But Chromecast allows any monitor to become a display, an extension of the mobile computing platform, allowing all the cloud's resources to be displayed anywhere. That will be the killer app, casting vdi's, mobile desktops, cloud office productivity apps, etc. It's one of the pieces that allow the mobile to become our sole computing device.
