Most countries come to the conclusion that crypto-currencies need to be regulated quite strictly.
2017 can be called the year of bitcoin fever - the rate of the most popular cryptocurrency of the world rose from 974 to 20 thousand dollars, crypto-currencies began to be recognized in many countries of the world, and ICO is becoming one of the important investment tools.
Payment system Bitcpin was invented by the mysterious creator Satoshi Nakamoto back in 2009. The author (or a group of authors - no one knows for sure) wanted to create an alternative financial system, transparent, independent of states not controlled by corporations. This system was mainly interested in programmers, cryptographers, various geeks. Bitcoin had its own internal ups and downs, few people remember, but in 2013 the currency was in a leap when its rate for the month rose sharply from 200 to 1,000 dollars and then fell to 450 dollars. Another three years about bitcoin, almost no one knew.
But at the beginning of 2016, the rate started to grow again and more than doubled in a year - from 433 to 933 dollars. On January 2, 2017, the rate of bitcoin for the first time since 2013 exceeded $ 1,000. For a year, the rate of bitcoin increased from 1,000 to 20 thousand dollars. No one could predict this.
In fact, the only thing that determines the rate of the crypto currency, for example, bitcoin, is news. The more news that new countries legalize it, the more companies that start accepting crypto-currencies as payment - the higher the bitcoin rate. Accordingly, the rate drops when one of the countries prohibits crypto-currencies (for example, a big collapse occurred when China banned ICO ) or when hackers manage to break into some of the exchanges. In November and December, the bitcoin rate was "inflated" including due to a closed circle of news: the more one writes about bitcoin - the more people come to the system - the more they write about bitcoin. Naturally, sooner or later such growth stops and a rollback occurs, which is now observed.
Similar jumps and kickbacks occurred more than once in the history of bitcoin and more than once in 2017, so analysts believe that after the rollback, growth will begin again. However, skeptics warn that the rate of the Cryptocurrency is not actually supported by anything, unlike the rate of fiat currencies or the rate of gold.
At the same time, despite legalization by individual countries and exchanges, crypto-currencies are still not normally regulated in any country, even in Japan, not all aspects of this system are under control. In addition, some countries have decided to ban any aspects of the cryptocurrency.
The latest news is not very comforting. Most countries come to the conclusion that crypto-currencies need to be regulated quite strictly. In the US in late 2017, closed the legislative loopholes for non-payment of taxes on trade in crypto-currencies, so from January 1, 2018, all trade in cryptocurrency in the United States will be taxed on capital gains, including the exchange of one crypto-currency for another. The draft laws will be considered in Russia. For example, the RF Ministry of Finance proposed to limit the initial allocation of funds through the ICO.
In addition, because of the popularity of cryptocurrency, the number of frauds also increases. For example, in the second half of 2017, there appeared a lot of financial pyramids, where bitcoins promise to bring new participants to the "pyramid".
In general, the Cryptocurrency is not going to take positions yet, and this is not a "bubble", as many call it. Most likely, when the boom around the cryptocurrency has subsided, they will nevertheless take their place in the financial system as a new tool.
Separately it is necessary to say about the detachment. Despite skepticism in relation to crypto-currencies, nobody is able to criticize a complex system based on transparency. Moreover, next year it can get its development and projects on the detachment will even more densely enter the usual spheres of life, for example, in the banking sphere, state administration or election system.
