I am new to this forum so HELLO. I've been hunting my usual haunts in the East Bay near Oakland California for golden chanterelles since November and I haven't found a one. I usually get enough to hold me over to next November, but this winter I haven't seen even a hint of a mushroom in areas that have always been productive. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just that my areas have been hunted out?
I really expected this year to be a great one but it's not turning out that way. I thought maybe the unusual cold weather might have something to do with it but I don't know.

They have been void this year, nobody knows why really.
It's been discussed a few times, and there is no real answer, no idea whats going on.
I found them all year last season, this season I found 0.

I found 7, total. I usually find pounds per day.
I know there are places that they did fruit.
But, none of my spots did. Nor did any forest that I checked.
Tmethyl pretty much summed it up.

only found 3 myself, that is interesting the east coast is having bad year too. Surely next season will be different.
