It was a dark and stormy night, and Susan was driving home from her late shift at the hospital. She had always been a bit skittish when it came to driving in the dark, but she had never been one to let her fears get the best of her.
As she drove down the deserted road, she suddenly heard a strange noise coming from the engine of her car. She tried to ignore it, hoping that it would go away on its own, but the noise only grew louder.
Panicking, Susan pulled over to the side of the road and stepped out of her car to take a look under the hood. But as she peered into the engine, she was suddenly enveloped by a thick, putrid mist. She tried to run back to the safety of her car, but the mist was too thick and she couldn't see a thing.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. She could sense that they were getting closer and closer, but she couldn't see who or what was coming. Her heart racing, she stumbled blindly through the mist, trying to find her way back to her car.
But as she stumbled, she felt a cold, bony hand grip her shoulder. She turned around to face her attacker, but all she could see was a pair of glowing, sinister eyes.
Susan screamed and tried to run, but the hand only gripped her tighter. And then, with a blood-curdling scream, she was pulled into the darkness.
No one knows what happened to Susan that night. Some say that she was taken by the ghost of a long-dead serial killer, who still haunts the deserted roads of that rural area. Others say that she was taken by the mist itself, which is said to be an entity with an insatiable hunger for human souls.
But one thing is for certain: no one who has ever encountered that mist has ever come back to tell the tale. And to this day, the deserted road remains shrouded in darkness, and travelers are warned to stay away, lest they too become a victim of the terror that lurks within the mist.
