A man is being held by police in Paris after he attempted to compel his way into the Eiffel Tower wielding a blade.
He was "immediately overwhelmed and captured" and nobody was harmed, the organization that runs the point of interest said.
France has been under a highly sensitive situation since the November 2015 assaults in the capital that left 130 individuals dead.
The occurrence at the Eiffel tower occurred at 23:30 pm (21:30 GMT) on Saturday night.
After the capture, police emptied the tower.

The kept man, wearing a Paris Saint-Germain football shirt, yelled "Allahu Akbar" - God is most noteworthy - as he got through security, a source disclosed to AFP news office.
