Joe @ UNIXy is very knowledgeable and helpful. I don't think you will be disappointed if you are looking for a fully managed service. I would contact them to find out whether you need a control panel based on your own requirements and what their support will cover if you don't have one. As far as pricing goes: at the end of the day, remember each time you need support/help you are paying for a person's time.. as strange as it may seem, for quality technicians and administrators a fraction of this is often worth more than the hardware/resources you are using :-)

Well they fully support 3rd part scripts, and thats truly what Im looking for. Ive been looking for a flaw in them, but so far they seems perfect for what I want. Im just a little scared to jump into something again after the vpslatch fiasco.
More then likely going to go with them. What is the purpose of Cpanel anyways? I still dont really know. Is it what allows me to control emails, and stuff like that for my business, or can that be done without some sort of panel?
All internet services like serving websites, emails, databases, mailing lists, and so, are provided by services (applications) running on your server. cPanel is a web-based interface/front-end for these services that greatly simplifies management, particularly for novice/mainstream users (so they don't have to do everything via command-line interface/configuration files).
It's not strictly necessary but, as I said, you should contact UNIXy (or other potential host) to ascertain whether they will support what you want, e.g. providing email services, without it.

Alright, Im talking to them via email right now. Sales support has actually replied within like 10-15 minutes each email. pretty impressive for just sales. Sometimes its taken a day, but wiredtree.com took multiple days during the work week. I know people say dont judge off of that, but It's hard not to.

They use a headline in their ad on WHT that says they have not had a single negative review on WHT.
It is highly likely a valid claim because otherwise someone would have complained about it by now if it was untrue. As it is in the offers section, at that point a mod would have take swift action.

Never used them.....but I have spoken to Joe in the past! That guy really knows what he's talking about and what he's doing!
If I was ever looking for an alternative main provider to KnownHost (very, very unlikely)....then Unixy would be top of the list now there's a question mark about WiredTree's direction.
I can't believe how much they offer in regards to 3rd party scripts. Makes the price fully worth it. Plus they are going to install a free admin panel for me to control emails for my site.

I know this is an old post but I still feel like mentioning my opinion about Unixy will maybe benefit someone.
So, I have been with Unixy for almost a year and I have never been so satisfied about any hosting company as this one. You can be a noob (like me) or a pro (maybe like you), you WILL find your way and finally set your mind at ease with Unixy. I have been with several hosting companies before I met Joe and his company Unixy.
And to be fair there are hundreds of companies who sell or rent servers, hostings, domains what so ever but few really take the time to set it up just like you want to. Who will give you the time and go with you through every single step, who?!! Yeah that's right, Unixy will. Take it from me, you will never find someone as professional, understanding and cooperative as Joe.
Whether you want a basic hosting/server or need something custom setup, Unixy is the way to go. There are a lot of custom plugins that you can find on their website along with all their packages and support.
