The inflation rate in the euro zone rose 4.1% year-on-year in October, its highest level in 13 years, as a result of the sharp rise in energy prices, Eurostat announced on Friday.
The energy sector was by far the one that had the most important increase (+ 23.5% year-on-year), after a 17.6% rise in prices in September, the European statistics office stressed. Inflation has not stopped rising in the euro zone since June, reaching 3% in August and 3.4% in September. (EFE, AFP, Destatis, Eurostat).
