- Alvaro Morata says living in London is too expensive compared to other cities
- The Chelsea striker would prefer renting a house than buying one in the city
- He currently earns £160,000-a-week with the Stamford Bridge club
Chelsea record signing Alvaro Morata is having trouble settling well with the Blues after complaining about the high cost of renting a property in London.
Morata who joined the Blues from Real Madrid for £65million in the summer, earns a reported £160,000-a-week.
The Spanish striker who has already said he prefers living in Italy than England has once again said the prices of renting apartments are high.
Speaking after Chelsea’s defeat to Roma, Morata said: “I’m very happy, I really like London.
“It’s only, a lot of traffic, in future I look to buy an apartment, I pay the high rental prices.
“Sometimes when I arrive at home I speak to my wife in English and she says ‘I don’t know what you are talking about’.”
The 25-year-old striker has scored seven goals in 14 games since his club record move from hometown club Real Madrid on a five-year deal in the summer.
