I am also thinking about using this strategy for instagram but wil that be worth it? I know facebook is the best but it is to secured.
Hmmm it's not about the quantity but rather quality. There are many fake accounts so the number doesn't really matter because these accounts will never take actions.
There's no way of knowing because I honestly have no idea how relevant your followers are to what you are selling. You do not need to just use clickbank though. I see people linking to products on Amazon frequently. Personally, I just use izea.com and sponsoredtweets.com, and also include tweets to anyone who advertises on the website.
The thing is you won't feel any impact from your twitter account unless you have genuine followers who care to check out what you have to offer.
You can make some $$ even if you only have 5k of real fans. On the other hand, you may end up making $0 from 100k followers if they joined just because.
I would say a minimum of 5,000 twitter followers but it is also about how many of them are active and not fake as that has a big affect.
They have to interested in the niche products you are selling, if not then getting all those followers is a waste of time.
Fake followers are worthless as far as monetizing. And if you are selling tweets to other people using such an account, that is pretty low. I could never sell anything I wouldn't use myself.
It will always depend on the quality and relevancy of your followers. You can have million followers but only hundreds of them are active and are coming from a specific niche, so basically if those are your kind of followers, your numbers are not that essential. Have quality followers and money will follow.
Debunking this shit right now.
*** How to make money by scamming idiots ***
To make money off of idiot marketers and noobies in the Internet Marketing industry you need to make it seem like what you are selling has any value at all, when it really doesn't.
I'm gonna use the example of SEOClerks.com, There are SOOOOO many fucking gigs on that site selling "legit, valid and confirmed" Tweets, Accounts and Followers.
Why do people buy twitter followers?
-> So they can sell Tweets
Why do people buy tweets?
-> So their website is seen by other people's followers
Do you see the scheme already? ^
Soo... Here is how you can make money off idiots:
Go buy a Twitter follower bot(google it)
Buy some proxies(google it).
start giving yourself a fuckload of followers(RTFM).
Then start writing your SEOClerks gigs for "XXX K Followers for $10" and your "I will tweet your website to my 1000k followers".
Sell your bullshit service to idiots who doesn't know any better.
Optional: Expand your bullshit services to all the other microjob sites.
There, I have exposed an entire industry, Enjoy.
(This is half serious, half joke)

I understand you, I am trying to avoid fake follows as much as possible by checking their followers ( if its to high I wont follow) and I only follow active users that tweeted minutes ago
I dont know how to filter better.

You know what I just realized? In your OP you mentioned that you made a program that allowed you to add 12k followers in 4 days. Dude, if this is for real, you should stop worrying how many followers you need to make $$ and start selling that program to whoever wants it. I've never heard of a software that would let someone get 12k followers in 4 fays.

2 followers per minute, if my maths are correct, it can easily be done given you've got enough proxies and if you multithread it properly, I might be looking to make such a bot at some point.

I agree, it's probably nothing fancy... But it would be cool if that bot could distinguish between an active and dormant account. Or better yet, between a real and fake account.

I dont even use proxies and i get about 100 followers per 15minute (does depends what the time is..) , im just using allot of twitter accounts, so I dont know how to prove that I have 16k followers if i want to do the Seoclarks thing

yeah but how do you know..
I have many twitter accounts but I never few them so how does anybody know that its fake or not
I am trying to filter as much as possible my looking at recent activities and (low number of)follower.

Through the twitter API you can grab info about the amount of followers, when people signed up and such, so if you take an arbitrary number of followers and check if the account is old, and has a avatar that is not the default one.
Pseudocode:
If USER_FOLLOWERS < 50
AND USER_SIGNUPDATE is "earlier than 3 months ago"
AND USER_AVATAR is not same as the default twitter avatars THEN:
FOLLOW USER
Or something like that

I don't think it will be an issue for someone to create a bot that can tell which account has been dormant.
For instance, http://tweepi.com tells you when the last tweet was sent, using the same idea, you can tell your bot that if the last tweet was sent more than nn days/months ago, don't add it. Something like that.
PS Sorry Helge, didn't see your post when I added mine. But, yeah, you nailed it.

That might also work, you could also implement a lot of various methods, then algoritmitically(probably not even a word but still) determine the accounts "legit" percentage.
