This island has been appearing and disappearing for almost 5 million years because of the water levels. The 52 kilometer long cape houses the Table Mountain National Park which is the most famous hiking spot in the country. The diversity in the flora and fauna here is also very noteworthy. Cape Fynbos dominate the landscape as well as Granite Fynbos and Afromontane Forests. Rock Hyraxes previously dominated this island too. You can also see different tortoises, porcupines, and the fabled Table Mountain Ghost Frogs.
