Aharbal is located in an alpine valley on Veshaw river which is a tributary of the Jehlum river.
The valley is covered in pine and fir trees.
Aharbal is known for its waterfall where the Veshaw River falls noisily through a narrow gorge of granite rocks. That's why Aharbal is also known as "Niagara falls of Kashmir".
