  1. Today, New Horizon, the NASA probe, blasted past Pluto at more than 45,000 kilometres per hour and has already revealed the dwarf planet to be larger than scientists thought.
  2. New measurements from New Horizons, the first craft to reach Pluto on the outer edge of the solar system, show that it is 2,370 kilometres across, approximately 2/3 the size of Earth’s moon.
