The technology of the last ten years has grown incredibly fast and it continues to grow under our eyes. Engineers, scientists, and It-ists come with new and fresh developments that can really change our lives. From the possibility to connect with people who live miles away from us to a chance for a better life for those who needed body organs and parts, we really live in a world with no borders.
Sun roofs
The first sun roof appeared in 2005, but its popularity grew in the last ten years. The idea of this invention is producing electricity whenever the sun’ s energy is available. We can also see the trend for eco-houses, more and more people living in these houses. Knowing the resources are limited, in order to protect the environment people choose this option, and they use efficient light bulbs, non-toxic furniture, and others eco tools.
Social Network Platforms
The big “boom” of Social Media was Facebook, who started in 2006. Since then, the platform has developed a lot and it helps people over 13 years old to communicate with anyone, in any corner of the world. The platform has multiple other functions, like the possibility to promote your personal business. In the summer of the same year, Twitter was launched. In 2012, more than 120 million users post more than 340 million tweets a day. There are also others social networkings like LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchap, Reddit, Pinterest, Tinder, Whatsapp, SoundCloud, Medium etc.
Google-self driving car
Toyota introduced “Prius”, a hybrid car, in the US. Google had started with this car the first self-driving car project. This happened in 2008 and the new car had no accelerator, no brake pedal, and no steering wheel. The car doesn’t need a driver and it is equipped with special software, combing sensors, and very accurate digital maps. They say in about 20 years it will become the norm.

In 2014 Google introduced the Google Glasses. Since then they have been working to develop the glasses. Just imagine your favorite virtual games or some of the places you’ve dreamed about combined with these glasses.
“Magic” in Bionics and Biomechanics
If a few years ago the 3D printer could make objects in their original form, now it can also make body organs. They had already done a 3D thyroid gland and used it on a mouse and a trachea that was used on a human. Now the scientists are working successfully on producing skin cells.
When it comes to people with disabilities, their life can now be easier. Bionic legs and arms could be the best solution for them. A bionic leg is essentially a wearable robot, with algorithms and sensors that automatically adjust the angle of the foot during different points in its wearer’s stride. Bionic arms allow people who wear them to use all normal functions of arms.
Other impressive development in bionics is bionic eye implants. It works inside the existing eye structures or in the brain. With this technology, they place a camera in the eye and this eye transfer the data to the retina. The technology is not perfect yet, but the scientist work on it.
