BTC NEWS: Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Is Pleased With The $ 7,000 Bitcoins
One of the most recognized inventors, electronic engineer and programmer, co-founder of Apple Computer - Steve Wozniak - spoke about his first interest in bitcoin and his attempt to acquire the first crypto currency at a price of $ 70 per coin.
During a speech at a technology conference in Miami, the co-founder of Apple stressed the importance of Bitcoin for the popularization of the technology of blockade. Wozniak was asked questions about "the rapid rise of the crypto-currency, the technology of blockade and their potential for revolutionary changes in society.
Wozniak spoke about the key functions of blocking technology in terms of security and traceability, calling them the factors that underlie almost all components of any banking industry, focused on decentralized innovation.
Then the inventor told about his first attempt to buy bitcoins several years ago at a price of about $ 100 per coin. Wozniak acquired the crypto currency not as an investor, but as a user who was interested in "playing" with bitcoin:
"I remember how some time ago I became interested in bitcoin. Then the price was $ 70 for bitcoin. (...) It was necessary to have a special bank account in a certain bank, so I could not buy bitcoins and surrendered.
In the end, I bought bitcoins at a price of $ 700, after which the price dropped to 350. Oh God. I did not invest, I just did it to play with bitcoin and understand how you can buy and sell things on it."
After that, Wozniak started looking for sites that accept payment in bitcoins, and found Tigerdirect. Since then, bitcoin has come a long way, and now the number of companies that accept crypto currency is Microsoft, Dell, Newegg, Overstock and Rakuten.
Currently, Wozniak is engaged in investments. Being an early supporter of bitcoin, he says that during his travels he is looking for hotels and restaurants accepting bitcoins for payment.
When Wozniak was reminded that recently bitcoin was trading at $ 3,000, which is 4.5 times higher than the price at which he once acquired the crypto currency, he said:
"I just played, trying to understand how you can buy and sell things, and did not think that I lost a lot of money (when the price went down), now I'm a little lucky."
Bitcoin joined in 2017 with a price of 1,000 dollars for a coin. In six months, the Crypto currency has taken a new record, reaching a mark of 3,000 dollars. At the time of writing, the bitcoin course is in a major correction and is about $ 2,300.
