Malaysian police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said seven people suspected of being members of a group calling itself the Islamic State (ISIS) has been arrested in Malaysia.
They are all citizens of Malaysia who were arrested during the last few days of continued operation after the arrest on 15 January against a man who called the plan to launch an attack in Kuala Lumpur.
Khalid Abu Bakar said that along with the arrest, police also seized ammunition, books and videos about jihad and the flag ISIS.
"All the unexpected is a member of the same group, which is responsible for the plan to launch terror attacks on strategic locations of Malaysia," said Khalid Abu Bakar on Sunday (24/01).
One of the seven Malaysians were arrested, there is one person who has been in contact with Bahrun Naim, an Indonesian accused of being behind the attack in the area of Sarinah, Jakarta, on Thursday (14/01).
According to Khalid Abu Bakar, the unexpectedly received orders from Bahrun Naim.
Malaysian security forces increased vigilance after attacks in Jakarta which killed eight people, including four actors.
