Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were reportedly spotted speaking to each other at the FIFA awards gala on Monday, and what was said is now believed to have been revealed.
Despite the fact that they are rivals for two of the biggest clubs in Spanish football, many claim that Messi and Ronaldo's relationship off the field is not as hostile as it has often been made out to be.
The Argentine watched on as the Portuguese international equalled his record of five FIFA Best Men’s Player awards on Monday night in London.
According to CalcioMercato.com, Messi and Ronaldo were seen in friendly conversation on the night, with the Barca forward reportedly admitting to the Real star he was the deserved winner of the accolade.
Ronaldo also reserved some subtle praise for his counterpart on the night, insisting his triumph did not mean the end of the "Messi era" because the Argentine is in the same era as he is.
On the football front, Messi has so far outshone the Portuguese in La Liga this season, scoring 11 times already compared to Ronaldo's one strike, although the Portugal captain was suspended for Real's first four league games of the campaign.
Do you think Messi and Ronaldo get on better than most fans reckon?
