  9. 1. Don't skip any meals
  10. Eating 3 meals with snacks in between is the ideal
  11. way to maintain both energy and a healthy weight.
  12. When you skip meals and get hungry, you're more
  13. than likely to choose foods that aren't very good
  14. for you.
  15. If you are eating away from home, take food with
  16. you or know where you can buy healthy food from.
  17. 2. Learn about how to prepare foods
  18. Instead of deep frying, try grilling, stir frying,
  19. microwaving, baking, and even boiling. You should
  20. also try fresh or even dried herbs and spices to
  21. add flavor to your food. Before you eat any type
  22. of meat, be sure to trim the fat and skin off of
  23. it.
  24. 3. Avoid a lot of sugar
  25. Drinks that contain sugar are a major source of
  26. empty energy. What this means, is that the drinks
  27. contain a lot of energy that your body may not
  28. need, and it doesn't contain any vitamins or
  29. minerals. If you plan to drink sugary drinks,
  30. don't go overboard - limit yourself to 1 a day.
  31. 4. Avoid thinking about diets
  32. There are no good food nor any bad foods. All
  33. food can be a part of a healthy diet, when eaten
  34. in moderation. You don't need to buy any low
  35. carb, fat free, or even diet foods, as these foods
  36. normally have lots of other added ingredients
  37. to replaces the carbohydrates or fat.
