  14. STUFF I'VE ALREADY BEEN TOLD ABOUT
  15. ==============================================================================
  16. This is just a quick list of things that are on my "to do" list. These have
  17. already been brought to my attention, but I haven't had time to flesh out
  18. exactly how they work (I personally check each vehicle and strategy in this
  19. guide), or I haven't gotten that far in the story (I know, I'm taking a long
  20. time). Names of the finder is in parentheses.
  21. -All light blue vehicles from the Epsilon mission strand. (Tons of people)
  22. -Maroon Frogger from that first FIB mission. (me; others confirmed)
  23. -Pale Green Comet from a Trevor stranger mission. (Israel Diaz)
  24. -Clown Van. (me)
  25. -Blank plate Taxi in switch event at Franklin's new house. ()
  26. -Blank plate Romero in a Trevor switch event. (Timcatgt)
  27. -The Skylift in that one mission. (Tons of people)
  28. -Stretch with unique plate in Meltdown. ()
  29. -Unique plate vehicles in the Private Fare taxi missions. (Tons of people)
  30. -Asea from the stranger mission. (Tons of people)
  31. -Any obvious unlockable vehicle (like Space Docker). (Tons of people)
  32. -Black unique plate Tornado in The Third Way. (Coen91; Arthur Heng to keep)
  33. -Possible special color Felon in Pitchers' random mission. (fnxrak)
  34. -"Stuck doors" Phoenix from a random event. (Arthur Heng)
  35. -Merryweather Mesas in The Wrap Up. (Tons of people)
  36. -Unique plate Vacca in The Wrap Up. (Arthur Heng; fnxrak for unique)
  37. Also, the "Mariachi" Tornado in the border patrol stranger mission is NOT
  38. special.

  40. ABOUT
  41. ==============================================================================
  42. This guide is to assist those players who enjoy collecting rare or unique
  43. vehicles. This guide lists all known vehicles with some special property that
  44. can only be obtained during missions. Although this game does have a mission
  45. replay feature (similar to The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC for GTAIV), it creates a
  46. discrete instance of a mission, as opposed to a world continuous with the main
  47. game world, and as such, vehicles cannot be retrieved via this method, as no
  48. data is saved after completing a mission replay (except for mission objective
  49. completion).
  50. I wrote this guide with the Xbox 360 version, not the PS3 version. I don't
  51. know of any differences between the different versions, at least that affect
  52. this guide, however I will include any information on known version
  53. differences as best I can. If you notice a difference, such as a particular
  54. strategy or glitch not working, contact me and let me know (be sure to mention
  55. which version you're playing).
  56. CAUTION! This guide may inadvertently contain spoilers of story missions!
  57. While this guide's scope does not really involve spoiling anything, due to
  58. what is required of it, it does possess a list of mission names at the very
  59. minimum, which may have the potential to spoil parts of the game.

  166. *1* GLOSSARY OF TERMS
  167. ==============================================================================
  168. This is a glossary of all the special terms used in this guide.
  169. ------------------------------------------------------------
  170. VEHICLE NAMES:
  171. Make - The company that produced a vehicle. This is the first name listed in
  172. a vehicle's full name when inside of a vehicle. Some examples are Declasse,
  173. Karin, and Albany. Multiple vehicles can have the same make listed.
  174. Model - This is the traditional GTA vehicle name, and is located after the
  175. make, and followed by a comma and the class. This is all that was shown on
  176. the screen when getting in vehicles in previous GTA games, and most models
  177. should be easily recognizable for veteran GTA players.
  178. Class - This is the class of the vehicle, such as sports, sedans, or service.
  179. This is simply a reference to what type of vehicle it is, and may indicate
  180. performance (e.g., a sports car will be expected to perform better than a
  181. sedan, while being less resistant to damage). The class is listed last in a
  182. vehicle's full name, following a comma after the model.
  183. ------------------------------------------------------------
  184. [F] - This is used to denote a mission that Franklin participates in.
  185. [M] - This is used to denote a mission that Michael participates in.
  186. [T] - This is used to denote a mission that Trevor participates in.
  187. Any combination of the three letters may appear in brackets, describing all
  188. characters that participates in a given mission (e.g., [MT] means that both
  189. Michael and Trevor are part of the mission). Which characters participate in
  190. a mission is based on which character have their missions completed stat
  191. increased by 1 after completion (e.g., Trevor isn't listed in the prologue,
  192. because only Michael gets credit for that mission). [MFT] indicates that all
  193. three characters participate, although in some select circumstances, only one
  194. of the three actually plays the mission (but all 3 still get credit for it).
  195. ------------------------------------------------------------
  196. Tags: These tags may be appended to the list of attributes of a vehicle, such
  197. as mission, difficulty, and required resources. These denote certain specifics
  198. of the vehicle, and will be preceeded by two asterisks (**).
  199. **Complete mission: This vehicle requires completion of the mission to obtain,
  200. and thus only one copy can be acquired normally.
  201. **Post-mission: This vehicle exists only after the mission ends. While it is
  202. technically not part of the mission, it is usually attached to a switch event
  203. that specifically happens only immediately following the mission. Thus, it
  204. is considered as part of the mission for the purposes of this guide.
  205. **No interior garage: This vehicle can't be stored in an interior garage,
  206. except by exploiting the trick in section 3.3.
  207. **Persistent vehicle: A persistent vehicle is a vehicle that will always
  208. respawn completely intact, including any modifications added to it. The
  209. vehicles of the characters, such as Franklin's Buffalo and Michael's
  210. Tailgater are persistent vehicles.
  211. **LSC trick: This vehicle can be obtained from the mission by using the LSC
  212. trick (outlined in section 3.4). Modify it during the mission at a LSC garage
  213. and then finish the mission. It will be parked nearby. For some vehicles,
  214. this is the only way to obtain them. For others, its simply another (possibly
  215. easier) way.
  216. ------------------------------------------------------------
  217. PL - Pearlescent color. This is simply an abbreviation for pearlescent used in
  218. vehicle names, to conserve space and reduce length.
  219. RGO - Regular garage only. These vehicles either have some property that will
  220. disappear if saved in an interior garage, or cannot be stored in an interior
  221. garage. They must be stored inside one of a character's safehouse garages.
  222. The specifics of the requirement will be outlined in each vehicle's profile.
  223. UJ - Unjackable. Vehicles with this property cannot be stolen or driven by
  224. the player, even though there's no reason the character couldn't break the
  225. window and get in. It's even more ridiculous when they refuse to get on a
  226. motorcycle. Regardless, you're simply not going to be driving a UJ vehicle.
  227. UW - Unequipped wheels. These vehicles do not have any wheels shown as
  228. equipped when modding them, despite the fact they obviously do have wheels.
  229. The wheels category in the LSC garage will default to Sport, although the
  230. vehicle actually has the default wheels of its class (e.g., Canis Mesa, an
  231. off-road vehicle, will have the default Off-Road wheels, although they will
  232. not be shown as equipped).
  233. Beater - An old, dilapidated vehicle. Rusty, damaged/broken windows and other
  234. parts, engine problems. Not something you'd entrust your safety to in a
  235. police chase or hectic situation.
  236. Blank plate - A license plate that is blank, with nothing on it. These seem to
  237. be found in vehicles that involve switching to another character after a
  238. mission they take part in, or at point in the game. This will be denoted in
  239. vehicle titles by the tag [Blank] at the start of the name.
  240. Branded - A branded vehicle contains decals, markings, or other indications of
  241. belonging to a particular business or brand. Unbranded means the opposite: a
  242. lack of branding, usually on a vehicle that normally is branded.
  243. Classic - Classic colors are just the color in question with a glossy finish.
  244. The only difference between classic and metallic is that the latter has a
  245. pearlescent finish to it.
  246. Description - A description of unique color/feature vehicles and WHY they are
  247. unique. Vehicles with a unique color will have a description of the colors
  248. available that most closely resemble their actual colors.
  249. Difficulty - A general summary of the relative difficulty, out of 5 stars. The
  250. difficulty level assigned to a vehicle will be based on the easiest strategy
  251. that requires the least of or no mission failures, deaths, arrests, and
  252. cheats. The existence of strategies that utilize those things are usually
  253. much easier than ones without (i.e., the difficulty of obtaining a vehicle
  254. may be in getting it without failing a mission, possibly putting it at 3
  255. stars, while just accepting the mission failure would make obtaining it a
  256. 1-star difficulty).
  257. ------------------------------
  258. * Car is practically (or literally) given to player during and/or
  259. after mission, or requires very little effort with no skill or luck.
  260. ------------------------------
  261. ** Car is readily available, but requires a little luck or a minimum of
  262. effort to successfully obtain.
  263. ------------------------------
  264. *** Car requires some determination and manipulation of the game to
  265. acquire. Possibly a little luck.
  266. ------------------------------
  267. **** Car is difficult to obtain, some luck may factor in, and requires a
  268. keen knowledge of and skill at the game.
  269. ------------------------------
  270. ***** Car is extremely difficult to obtain; very luck-based, requires
  271. difficult maneuvers to succeed, such as pushing to a parking spot
  272. despite a wanted level.
  273. ------------------------------
  274. ********** There's no god here today. Just this vehicle.
  275. ------------------------------
  276. Discovered by - This is not necessarily the first person to discover a
  277. vehicle, but rather the first person to report it to me. I will add the
  278. original discoverer if I'm able to determine who originally found it,
  279. however.
  280. Double-drive - Double-driving is used in some vehicle strategies. It involves
  281. driving two vehicles at once back to your safehouse. One is the special
  282. vehicle you're trying to obtain, the other is a vehicle some important person
  283. from the mission is in, and if you go too far away, you will fail.
  284. You essentially drive one car partway towards the destination, then get out
  285. and drive the other a bit farther, and repeat ad nauseum. Slow, but
  286. guaranteed to work, as long as you don't put too much distance between them.
  287. You don't risk failing the mission, but rather the vehicle you're trying for
  288. may vanish.
  289. Equipped - This term denotes what features a vehicle is shown as having in the
  290. customization garages. Normally, a vehicle will show its current features,
  291. including colors, with an icon in place of the price on the list of options.
  292. However, many special vehicles do not show any color on the list as the
  293. current color, due to using a unique color not normally available.
  294. Formulated by - This is who informed me of the strategy to obtain the vehicle.
  295. Vehicles that were pointed out to be, but where I was given no strategy to
  296. obtain it often lead to me developing the strategy, although most will have
  297. the same entry for Discovered and Formulated by.
  298. Jack - To jack a vehicle means to steal it. This is probably not a necessary
  299. entry, but I figured I'd add it just in case.
  300. LSC garage - Los Santos Customs garage. This is the vehicle modification
  301. garage, where you... modify vehicles.
  302. Metallic - Metallic paint is the same as the classic color, but has a
  303. pearlescent layer on top of it that adds a "luster" to it. When metallic
  304. paint is equipped on a vehicle, it will unlock the option to change the
  305. pearlescent color. Each metallic color has a pearlescent shade to it.
  306. Modded - This simply refers to a vehicle that has modifications already
  307. installed. This can make vehicles from missions unique since it may offer
  308. modifications for a vehicle before they are unlocked to be purchased
  309. normally. A list of the non-stock modifications the car is equipped with
  310. will be provided.
  311. Most Recent Vehicle - This is a self-descriptive term. It refers to the last
  312. vehicle a character was inside. Note that it only considers vehicles a
  313. character was actually inside of and driving, not as a passenger. The vehicle
  314. "driven" does not have to have been functional, so even stalled and damaged
  315. vehicles will work, so long as the game allows a character to get inside.
  316. Palette - The selection of colors a vehicle can be found in. Usually randomly
  317. selected when a vehicle is created. Each vehicle in the game seems to have a
  318. discrete catalog of colors in their palette, rather than randomly choosing
  319. from the entire potential list of colors available during customization.
  320. Pearlescent - Pearlescent paint is a "luster" that is applied on top of a
  321. metallic paintjob. Only metallic colors have a pearlescent layer, and all
  322. metallics will have the layer. Pearlescent paint is what makes metallic
  323. colors different from their classic counterparts. Each metallic color has a
  324. default pearlescent that accompanies it when purchased, but it will also
  325. unlock the option to choose a different pearlescent. Pearlescent is only an
  326. option for the primary color on a vehicle, and will be applied to the
  327. secondary color as well (if one is present).
  328. Persistent vehicle - These vehicles are character's personal vehicles in the
  329. game. Persistent vehicles are so named because they will retain upgrades and
  330. changes made to them even if you end up losing it somehow. They will also
  331. always spawn in certain locations (such as outside a character's safehouses).
  332. These vehicles cannot be stored in interior garages, despite most being able
  333. to fit.
  334. Plate - An easier way of saying license plate. Usually only used in the
  335. context of unique license plates. Normal "random" license plates follow the
  336. format of 2:3:3 letters, numbers, letters. Several unique plates follow this
  337. format, and are only classified as unique because it always has the same
  338. combination, rather than a random one.
  339. Random - Denotes a property that is randomized on a vehicle, such as color.
  340. Rare - This is used in the guide to denote an "unlockable" vehicle.
  341. Refresh - When a vehicle is refreshed, it refers to the ability of a garage to
  342. "reset" the vehicle, repairing all damage, removing extraneous properties
  343. (such as some of those found in the UJ vehicles section), and removing the UJ
  344. property from a vehicle. When a vehicle is in a garage, refreshing happens
  345. if the game is saved and loaded, or if the player travels far enough away
  346. from the garage before returning. Certain other things can trigger a refresh,
  347. as well.
  348. Set plate - A license plate that follows the normal randomly-generated format,
  349. but is always set to the same thing. Not quite a truly unique plate, since in
  350. theory it could be randomly generated, but still worthy of note.
  351. Special (color) - A special color is one that does not exist in the color
  352. menu during customization, which means the vehicle in question cannot be
  353. replicated by customizing. A special colored vehicle's description will try
  354. to explain which colors are the closest approximation of the actual color,
  355. and in what way the special color is unique.
  356. Most "Special" colored vehicles have a color that is extremel close to an
  357. existing color or colors, though, and barely look different. There are few
  358. monumentally different "special" colors available.
  359. Switch event - These are the various situations a character will appear in
  360. when switching to them, usually after a mission, a new day, an autosave, or
  361. anything else that would recalculate their position. Most are just mundane
  362. things, like exiting a store or waking up, severely hung over, on a rooftop
  363. with no ladder down. However, some switch events are one-time special
  364. situations that may contain a special vehicle.
  365. Unique - This vehicle is unique and found in story missions only, or other
  366. limited-time availability missions, and thus can be missed altogether.
  367. Unique plate - A vehicle with a license plate that does not follow the format
  368. for randomly-generated plates. This will be denoted in vehicle titles by the
  369. tag [Unique] at the start of the name.
  370. Unlockable - This term in my guide denotes a vehicle that is only infinitely
  371. available either through story missions and/or by unlocking it at some point
  372. through the story, whether by completing a mission, finishing a side mission,
  373. or even a vehicle that is only available during a side mission, but is
  374. repeatedly available by doing the mission over and over at your leisure.
  375. Unobtainable - A vehicle that, for whatever reason, cannot be obtained and/or
  376. stored with its properties. In GTAV, most UJ vehicles are unobtainable due to
  377. being unable to get them to a garage (and in some cases, unable to store them
  378. in an interior garage).
  379. ==============================================================================
  380. *2* SAFEHOUSES AND GARAGES
  381. ==============================================================================
  382. These are places to store your vehicles. There are two types of garages:
  383. small, single-car garages, like in classic GTA games, and large, indoor
  384. garages that can store multiple vehicles and are an interior.
  385. NOTE: Throughout the storyline, sometimes certain safehouses become
  386. unavailable temporarily or permanently. With the exception of Michael's
  387. house, any safehouse that is lost WILL DELETE ALL VEHICLES CONTAINED WITHIN
  388. THE GARAGE. Move vehicles out of the garage before losing the safehouse to
  389. keep vehicles. The impound lot can provide a quick, temporary storage method
  390. for one or both vehicles in these garages, so long as you're careful to get
  391. them out ASAP and not replace them with other vehicles.
  392. SAFEHOUSE GARAGES:
  393. -Can hold 1-2 vehicles each, depending on size
  394. -Hard limit is 2 vehicles (beyond this, vehicles start disappearing)
  395. -Part of the game world
  396. -Found at each character's safehouse
  397. INTERIOR GARAGES:
  398. -Can hold 4 vehicles
  399. -Separate interior, with vehicles automatically aligned
  400. -Unique for each character
  401. -Will not hold certain vehicles (primarily vehicles too large to fit in the
  402. characters' normal-sized safehouse garages). A glitch mentioned in section
  403. 3.3 can be used to put any vehicle inside, though.
  404. -Allows access to DLC vehicles (and contains an infinite supply of them)
  405. All garages are unique for the character listed, meaning other characters
  406. cannot access them. Additionally, garages will only repair vehicles if enough
  407. time has passed, or if the game is saved and then loaded. Repairs are not
  408. instant, as in previous GTA games.
  409. Unlike other open-world games, all garages only store one copy of vehicles.
  410. If you take a vehicle out of the garage and lose it, it will be gone forever.
  411. Make sure to always return your vehicles to the garage after use. However,
  412. the vehicles can often be found at the impound lot is lost during a mission or
  413. abandoned on the street. The impound only stores 2 vehicles, though; any
  414. previous ones are lost forever. Getting a car out of impound costs $250.
  415. Capacity listed for safehouse garages is relative, with the actual capacity
  416. depending on the vehicles that are stored. If all entrances to a vehicle are
  417. blocked, the vehicle cannot be entered. If all entrances to all vehicles are
  418. blocked, the garage is effectively clogged, and can only be cleared by blowing
  419. up some or all of the vehicles inside.
  420. ------------------------------------------------
  421. FRANKLIN'S GARAGES:
  422. ------------------------------------------------
  423. INTERIOR: Grove Street Garage, Grove St., Davis
  424. ----------
  425. SAFEHOUSE 1: Franklin's House, Forum Dr., Strawberry
  426. ==Available after Franklin and Lamar
  427. ==LOST AFTER HOTEL ASSASSINATION
  428. Relative capacity: 1 car + 1 motorcycle
  429. A medium-sized garage that isn't deep. It can only fit one car, and if it's
  430. on the smaller end, a motorcycle can also fit beside it. Two motorcycles would
  431. fit easily.
  432. NOTE: Remove any vehicles stored within the garage before completing the
  433. mission "Hotel Assassination" for Lester. Anything in the garage after the
  434. mission will be lost forever!
  435. ----------
  436. SAFEHOUSE 2: Investment Property, Whispymound Dr., Vinewood Hills
  437. ==Available after Hotel Assassination
  438. Relative capacity: 2 medium cars
  439. A wider garage, similar to Michael's, but with a much lower clearance. Two
  440. cars can fit in easily, but there isn't much depth.
  441. ------------------------------------------------
  442. MICHAEL'S GARAGES:
  443. ------------------------------------------------
  444. INTERIOR: Vinewood Garage, Spanish Ave., West Vinewood
  445. ----------
  446. SAFEHOUSE 1: Michael's House, West Eclipse Blvd., Rockford Hills
  447. ==Available after Complications
  448. ==Temporarily lost after Caida Libre
  449. ==Regained after Monkey Business
  450. Relative capacity: 2 cars (1 large, 1 small)
  451. This is a large garage with a lot of space. It can even fit vehicles like the
  452. Towtruck. Take advantage of this one to store some of the bigger vehicles.
  453. NOTE: Although Michael temporarily loses access to his safehouse during the
  454. storyline, the vehicles stored in the garage are safe and will be available
  455. again after regaining access following Monkey Business.
  456. ----------
  457. SAFEHOUSE 2: Trevor's Trailer, Marina Ave., Sandy Shores
  458. ==Available after Caida Libre
  459. ==Lost after Monkey Business
  460. Relative capacity: 1 large car or 2 motorcycles
  461. The garage is a standard garage, about able to fit a large van. It is deep,
  462. so adding a motorcycle in behind another vehicle may be possible.
  463. NOTE: After finishing Caida Libre, Michael gains access to Trevor's trailer
  464. as a safehouse. He also gains access to the garage, however he and Trevor will
  465. share the garage space. They don't each get to store two vehicles.
  466. ------------------------------------------------
  467. TREVOR'S GARAGES:
  468. ------------------------------------------------
  469. INTERIOR: Pillbox Hill Garage, Adam's Apple Blvd., Pillbox Hill
  470. ----------
  471. SAFEHOUSE 1: Trevor's Trailer, Marina Ave., Sandy Shores
  472. ==Available after Mr. Philips
  473. Relative capacity: 1 large car or 2 motorcycles
  474. The garage is a standard garage, about able to fit a large van. It is deep,
  475. so adding a motorcycle in behind another vehicle may be possible.
  476. ----------
  477. SAFEHOUSE 2: Floyd's House, Magellan Ave., La Puerta
  478. ==Available after Friends Reunited
  479. ==LOST AFTER CAIDA LIBRE
  480. Relative capacity: 2 large cars (or even trucks)
  481. Regarding Floyd's "garage," it is actually a parking spot, similar to GTAIV.
  482. Vehicles parked in the area surrounding the blue tarp underneath the overhang
  483. near Floyd's apartment will be stored, despite not being an actual garage. As
  484. with other safehouse storage, up to two vehicles can be stored. Even large
  485. vehicles, such as the tractor cab JoBuilt Phantom, can be fit by creatively
  486. maneuvering as much of the vehicle as possible close to the blue tarp, which
  487. seems to be the focal point of the parking spot.
  488. All characters have access to the parking spot, as well, and can both see
  489. vehicles parked there as well as park vehicles there. This makes trading
  490. vehicles between characters very easy, at least for the duration the game
  491. grants access to this safehouse.
  492. (Thanks to Arthur Heng for helping me figure out how this space works!)
  493. NOTE: After completing Caida Libre, this safehouse and its garage is lost
  494. for the remainder of the game. Any vehicles stored in the parking spot will be
  495. lost forever at this point.
  496. ----------
  497. SAFEHOUSE 3: Vanilla Unicorn, Elgin Ave., Strawberry
  498. ==Available after Hang Ten
  499. Relative capacity: 2 large cars (or even trucks)
  500. The Vanilla Unicorn has a parking zone similar to Floyd's house. The specific
  501. parking zone is along the east side of the building, encompassing the several
  502. parking spots with standards against the wall. Although only two vehicles
  503. will be saved at a time, it can fit even large vehicles.
  504. Also similar to Floyd's house is that Michael and Franklin can see and use
  505. any vehicles parked in the spot. However, unlike Floyd's house, only vehicles
  506. parked by Trevor will be saved, reducing the utility the spot provides.
  507. ==============================================================================
  508. *3* OTHER INFORMATION AND TECHNIQUES FOR ACQUIRING VEHICLES
  509. ==============================================================================
  510. This section explains various things that won't fit elsewhere in the guide.
  511. -----------------------------------------------
  512. 3.1 - Major changes from GTAIV
  513. -----------------------------------------------
  514. Several things have changed with regards to vehicle hunting between GTAIV and
  515. GTAV. This is a quick list.
  516. -Failing missions are no longer recorded as a statistic, leaving no "proof" of
  517. failing a mission beyond owning a vehicle that requires it.
  518. -Garages return from classic GTA, and replace parking spots as a means of
  519. vehicle storage. There are also large interior garages that can save 4
  520. vehicles very reliably, but will sometimes not allow certain vehicles (such as
  521. the characters' personal vehicles) to enter. A glitch detailed in section 3.3
  522. describes how to put any vehicle into the interior garages.
  523. -Most UJ vehicles are unobtainable, but some can be pushed or towed into a
  524. character's safehouse garage to obtain them.
  525. -Each character's garages are separate, however it is possible to
  526. "transfer" a vehicle from one character to another by maneuvering two
  527. characters close to each other, then having one get out of the vehicle and
  528. switching to the other, and taking the vehicle. Otherwise, each character's
  529. special vehicle selection is limited to what is found in their missions.
  530. -"Lustered" vehicles are now pearlescents. Pearlescent is a secondary color
  531. that is applied on top of any metallic color (and only metallics). In fact,
  532. pearlescent is the only difference between a metallic color, and its classic
  533. counterpart. The menu option to respray a vehicle as pearlescent is only
  534. available if a metallic paintjob is applied as the primary color. Due to how
  535. the game works with what color is "equipped" as the primary color, it is
  536. possible to recreate any combination of normal and pearlescent colors and have
  537. the result be identical to a seemingly-unique pearlescent vehicle found in a
  538. mission.
  539. -----------------------------------------------
  540. 3.2 - Character-switch vehicle retrieval
  541. -----------------------------------------------
  542. Often you will encounter a vehicle that cannot be parked in a safehouse for
  543. some reason, even though you are able to get inside. However, it may be
  544. possible to obtain it so long as you are able to switch to a different
  545. character. Get inside, then switch to someone else. Waste some time, then
  546. switch back to the previous character. If successful, they will either be
  547. driving the vehicle in question, or it will be parked nearby. This can be used
  548. to restart vehicles that have stalled, or become stuck in an irrevocable
  549. position (such as wedged in between obstacles).
  550. A character not currently in use will return to their default vehicle at
  551. midnight of a new day, however, so make sure not to spend too much time on
  552. someone else.
  553. -----------------------------------------------
  554. 3.3 - Storing any vehicle inside interior garages!
  555. -----------------------------------------------
  556. Courtesy of StuntmanSnake!
  557. This is surprisingly simple. To store vehicles in interior garages that
  558. normally can't be stored there, drive close to the garage door and park so
  559. the driver's side door of the vehicle is as close to the garage as possible.
  560. Then, get out, and when the prompt to enter the garage on foot comes up, get
  561. back inside. As soon as the character finishes getting inside, press the
  562. button to enter the garage.
  563. If done correctly, the vehicle will be stored inside the garage! This does not
  564. seem to have any consequences, even for storing larger vehicles, and can make
  565. safely storing vehicles much easier. If the button is pressed too early, the
  566. character will enter his garage without the vehicle. Exiting without choosing
  567. a vehicle will allow another chance, as the vehicle will still be sittng
  568. outside, either next to the garage door, or parked in a nearby parking space.
  569. You can also obtain multiple copies of the character's special vehicles (the
  570. persistent ones) with this trick. If a persistent vehicle is stored in an
  571. interior garage using this method, it becomes "disconnected" from the
  572. persistent version of the vehicle. It will become like a normal car, with
  573. upgrades isolated to just that specific copy of the vehicle. It can also be
  574. stored in interior garages normally afterwards. The persistent vehicle will
  575. also still spawn normally at the character's safehouse, so you'll just have
  576. an additional copy of it.
  577. Note that this glitch does not allow you to store a vehicle during a mission,
  578. or to exceed the four-vehicle capacity of the garage. Even the largest
  579. vehicles, such as tractor cabs and buses, will fit without issue.
  580. -----------------------------------------------
  581. 3.4 - Saving certain vehicles from missions (LSC trick)
  582. -----------------------------------------------
  583. Courtesy of fnxrak (discovery) Arthur Heng (exploiting it)!
  584. This is a simple trick that can allow you to obtain various vehicles featured
  585. in missions. It only applies to vehicles that can actually be driven during
  586. the mission, though.
  587. Once inside the vehicle of choice, go to an LSC garage. Enter and modify the
  588. vehicle in some way. This will set it as the "active" vehicle for that
  589. character, and it will appear parked nearby after the mission ends, even if
  590. its a mission-important vehicle. However, sometimes the vehicle in question
  591. will be impounded instead; in that case, just go to the impound lot and pay to
  592. get it out of impound. Don't forget about it!
  593. Some missions result in a message stating that LSC is closed. This trick
  594. cannot be used in such missions, for obvious reasons.
  595. -----------------------------------------------
  596. 3.5 - Duplicating vehicles
  597. -----------------------------------------------
  598. Courtesy of StuntmanSnake!
  599. You just do the thing where one vehicle becomes two! You know, mitosis.
  600. (it actually involves getting in a vehicle in a safehouse garage, then getting
  601. out and switching characters just as their feet both hit the ground. I'll
  602. make a more detailed description once I test it more.)
  603. -----------------------------------------------
  604. 3.6 - Snowy vehicles
  605. -----------------------------------------------
  606. This section was created to save multiple vehicle entries that are all
  607. unobtainable and similar.
  608. Vehicles in North Yankton are special "snowy" versions, covered in - you
  609. guessed it - snow! No doubt a result of the more northern climate of North
  610. Yankton compared to the normally balmy San Andreas weather, these cars are
  611. actually special versions of their respective vehicles. However, as an
  612. inevitable result of their existence only in North Yankton, they are all
  613. unobtainable.
  614. However, North Yankton is only visited in two missions: Prologue, and Bury the
  615. Hatchet, and only the latter allows any real minimum of exploration. In
  616. addition, Bury the Hatchet only shows these vehicles if Michael is the one to
  617. start the mission; starting as Trevor bypasses the whole driving scene.
  618. Aside from having a special snowy texture, these vehicles also have "Yankton"
  619. state license plates, as opposed to the San Andreas state plates of Los Santos
  620. and Blaine County.
  621. Vehicles seen during "Prologue":
  622. -Police Roadcruiser, Emergency (North Yankton state police livery)
  623. -Police Rancher (North Yankton state police livery)
  624. -Brute Stockade, Commercial ("Bobcat" livery)
  625. -Albany Emperor, Sedans
  626. -Declasse Rancher XL, Off-Road
  627. -Stanley Fieldmaster, Utility
  628. Vehicles seen during "Bury the Hatchet":
  629. -Declasse Asea, Sedans (also a unique vehicle in and of itself)
  630. -Vapid Sadler, Utility
  631. -Albany Emperor, Sedans
  632. -Declasse Rancher XL, Off-Road
  633. -Canis Mesa, SUVs
  634. -Declasse Burrito, Vans
  635. NOTE: I fully expect someone to discover some esoteric glitch that allows one
  636. (or more) of these vehicles to be brought back to Los Santos somehow. This
  637. will probably happen 3-4 years after the game's release. There, my prediction
  638. is here for all the world to see. Bow before your prophet!
  639. ==============================================================================
  640. *4* UNIQUE VEHICLES
  641. ==============================================================================
  642. These vehicles only appear during story missions, and once the game is
  643. completed, cannot be acquired without cheating. Unique vehicles are denoted by
  644. having a unique vehicle name not found elsewhere. Unique versions of existing
  645. vehicles are found under specially colored/featured vehicles.
  646. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  647. 4.1 - Unobtainable Cargo Plane, Planes (1st of 2)
  648. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  649. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  650. Mission: Minor Turbulence [T] (Michael)
  651. Discovered by: Many people
  652. ----------------------------------------
  653. Description: A massive cargo transport aircraft, this is a huge vehicle and
  654. handles like one. During the section of the mission with the military escort,
  655. the LAZERs practically can fly circles around this. It's honestly a mystery as
  656. to why (and how) Trevor thought this could possibly fit on his tiny airstrip
  657. in Grapeseed.
  658. ----------------------------------------
  659. Unobtainable: The plane is part of the mission and obviously vanishes if the
  660. mission is failed. Completing the mission sees it plummet into the Alamo Sea.
  661. Even if it could somehow be taken to a hangar, there's no chance it could
  662. possibly fit inside.
  663. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  664. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  665. 4.2 - "Merryweather" Canis Mesa, Off-Road
  666. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  667. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  668. Mission: Minor Turbulence [T] (Michael)
  669. Difficulty: *****
  670. Required: Pushing vehicle, patience, and luck
  671. Discovered by: Many people
  672. **Complete mission
  673. ----------------------------------------
  674. Description: The Merryweather Off-Road Canis Mesa is heavily-modified with
  675. large off-road tires. Used exclusively by the "security consulting" company,
  676. this Mesa is quite unique and even classified differently than the normal
  677. Mesa, which is an SUV and not Off-Road vehicle.
  678. ----------------------------------------
  679. STRATEGY: After the air force critically damages the Cargo Plane, Trevor will
  680. bail out, and has the option to drive this out of the cargo bay instead. Once
  681. he does, he'll have to bail or else the Mesa will explode when it hits the
  682. ground and kill him. But since this will usually land close to Trevor's Sandy
  683. Shores safehouse, it is possible to parachute down safely and get a vehicle to
  684. push this to the garage at that safehouse. With a lot of luck and a vehicle to
  685. prop open the garage door, it can be pushed inside and will, hopefully, be
  686. resurrected by the garage. This can take a lot of luck, though, and the garage
  687. is prone to causing the vehicle to just vanish instead of reviving it. Unless
  688. you REALLY want this one, just get one from a later mission.
  689. <<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>
  690. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  691. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  692. 4.3 - Unobtainable "Merryweather" Canis Mesa, Off-Road
  693. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  694. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  695. Mission: Derailed [MT] (Trevor)
  696. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  697. ----------------------------------------
  698. Description: A unique version of the Canis Mesa, classified as Off-Road instead
  699. of an SUV, and with numerous unique body modifications. This one is black in
  700. color.
  701. ----------------------------------------
  702. Unobtainable: Trevor and Michael encounter this while escaping the wreckage
  703. in the Dinghy. As the controls are locked to the boat at this time, it is
  704. impossible to get out and obtain it, and it would likely vanish even after the
  705. mission ends.
  706. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  707. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  708. 4.4 - Unobtainable Declasse Asea, Sedans (snowy)
  709. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  710. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  711. Mission: Bury the Hatchet [MT] (Michael)
  712. Discovered by: Many people
  713. Unique license plate: [LB080984]
  714. ----------------------------------------
  715. Description: This is a somewhat compact little sedan that is as rare as it
  716. is... mediocre. Nothing particularly stands out, yet it is only found in two
  717. places, one of which is this unobtainable snowy version. Note that to see this
  718. vehicle, YOU MUST START THE MISSION AS MICHAEL. Starting as Trevor bypasses
  719. the while driving scene, and this this vehicle won't be seen (along with the
  720. other snowy vehicles). It also has a unique license plate, for what little
  721. that matters next to the mountain of other unique things.
  722. ----------------------------------------
  723. Unobtainable: Michael uses this car during the North Yankton segment of the
  724. mission. As it is in North Yankton, there is no way to retrieve it for return
  725. to San Andreas (barring some esoteric glitch that someone will no doubt find
  726. a few years after release).
  727. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  728. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  729. 4.s1 - Unobtainable Cargo Plane, Planes (2nd of 2)
  730. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  731. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  732. Stranger (Franklin): Liquidity Risk (Dom)
  733. Discovered by: Many people
  734. ----------------------------------------
  735. Description: A massive cargo transport aircraft, this is a huge vehicle and
  736. handles like one. Not that you get to fly it in this mission, but you should
  737. remember from Minor Turbulence. I doubt many advances in aviation have been
  738. made in the couple of in-game weeks since then.
  739. ----------------------------------------
  740. Unobtainable: The plane is part of the mission and is already taking off on
  741. the runway, leaving no chance to obtain it. And unlike Trevor in Minor
  742. Turbulence, you don't even have the luxury of commandeering it. You just
  743. drive a Blazer out the back like a straight busta.
  744. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  745. ==============================================================================
  746. *5* UNIQUE/BLANK LICENSE PLATE VEHICLES
  747. ==============================================================================
  748. These vehicles all have a unique or blank license plate, making them special
  749. (and very visibly so). They may or may not also have a special color or
  750. feature that is similarly unique, and if so, it will be noted as well. These
  751. vehicles are special because they cannot be found outside of the mission(s)
  752. where they are present.
  753. Descriptions will be provided, listing exactly why and how the vehicle is
  754. special. Colors on vehicles that cannot be customized are approximated.
  755. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  756. 5.1 - [Blank] UW Black Canis Mesa (1st of 3)
  757. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  758. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  759. Mission: Complications [MF] (Simeon)
  760. Difficulty: *
  761. Required: Nothing
  762. Discovered by: Timcatgt
  763. **Post-mission
  764. ----------------------------------------
  765. Description: A metallic black Canis Mesa with a random pearlescent color and
  766. an uncovered back. The license plate is blank, and it doesn't show any wheels
  767. as equipped, even though it has Off-Road default wheels.
  768. ----------------------------------------
  769. STRATEGY: This can be found by switching to Franklin immediately after
  770. completing the mission. Once in control of him, head north, and this will be
  771. parked alongside the road. Note that this vehicle is spawned by the switch
  772. event with Franklin talking to Lamar on the phone, and if Michael gets too
  773. close to the location of the event, it will prevent the event from happening.
  774. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  775. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  776. 5.2 - [Blank] Taxi (1st of 2)
  777. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  778. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  779. Mission: Father/Son [MF] (Michael)
  780. Difficulty: *
  781. Required: Nothing
  782. Discovered by: StuntmanSnake / Lancet Jades (easier strategy)
  783. **Post-mission
  784. ----------------------------------------
  785. Description: A plain, ordinary taxi that just happens to have a blank license
  786. plate. The taxi does not seem to have a Taxi light on the roof.
  787. ----------------------------------------
  788. STRATEGY: The only way to obtain this is to switch to Michael shortly after
  789. finishing the mission. He will be getting out of the taxi. Quickly get inside
  790. and take it to a garage. Alternatively, loading an autosave from immediately
  791. after the mission seems to generate a random Michael switch event, with this
  792. Taxi as his active vehicle, making it that much easier to obtain.
  793. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  794. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  795. 5.3 - [Unique] Red Nagasaki Blazer
  796. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  797. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  798. Mission: Nervous Ron [T] (Trevor)
  799. Difficulty: *
  800. Required: Nothing
  801. Discovered by: Skellington87
  802. Unique license plate: [TPI1000]
  803. ----------------------------------------
  804. Description: Trevor's red quadbike with a unique license plate. The plate hints
  805. that this is a vehicle in service to Trevor Philips Industries.
  806. ----------------------------------------
  807. STRATEGY: Keeping this bike is as simple as getting on at the start of the
  808. mission and driving to the airfield southwest of the start location. This will

  824. remarkable, plate aside.
  825. ----------------------------------------
  826. STRATEGY: After the mission ends, you'll be controlling Michael. Switch to
  827. Trevor, and he'll be driving this vehicle. It is presumably the same Phantom
  828. from the mission, but with a blanked license plate. Use the trick in section
  829. 3.3 to store it in Trevor's interior garage. It can technically be stored in
  830. Floyd's parking spot, but since that is lost forever at a certain point in the
  831. story, it is not a permanent solution, and there will be a period of time
  832. where no suitable safehouse garage exists to store this.

  848. ----------------------------------------
  849. STRATEGY: If the mission either begins or ends with Trevor (or both), and you
  850. have NOT failed the mission and kept going, switching to the other character
  851. after the mission ends will find him taking cover in a cylindrical structure
  852. that is under construction near the southern docks. This will be parked

  900. ----------------------------------------
  901. Description: This is quite a unique Mixer, as it is missing the mixing drum!
  902. Everything but the drum is present, so it looks like the drum was just deleted
  903. off of the vehicle. The color is black and the plate is blank, as well. An odd
  904. vehicle that any collector should consider!
  905. ----------------------------------------
  906. STRATEGY: To cause this to appear, you must start AND finish the mission as
  907. Trevor. In addition, the mission must be failed at least once (die, get
  908. busted, or fail some objective). After finishing the mission, switch back to
  909. Franklin and he will be slightly northwest of where he would normally be after
  910. the mission. Head northeast and you'll find this on the north side of the

  930. Description: This is a rusty brown Towtruck (similar to JB's Towtruck) with a
  931. unique plate that is somewhat out of place, given that there is no reason in
  932. this mission for it to exist. Interestingly, the license plate seems to spell
  933. out "STEALME," with numbers substituted for some letters.
  934. ----------------------------------------
  935. STRATEGY: This is parked outside the drydock to the right after Trevor
  936. acquires the briefcase of manifests and Floyd gets his ass kicked. Get inside
  937. and drive to the mission destination. After the mission ends, this will be
  938. waiting outside. Unfortunately, Trevor doesn't have a garage that can fit
  939. this, so arrange an impromptu meeting between Trevor and Michael, let Michael

1214. Description: A plain, ordinary taxi that just happens to have a blank license
1215. plate. The taxi has no light on the roof.
  1216. --------------------
1217. Availability: Randomly occurs when switching to Franklin, or loading an
1218. autosave with Franklin as the active character. This event will no longer
1219. occur once the mission Mr. Philips is complete. This event consists of
1220. Franklin having a conversation with Tanisha in his aunt's safehouse. After the
1221. conversation ends, she will leave the safehouse and drive off in this Taxi.
  1222. --------------------
1223. STRATEGY 1 (requires online access): This can only be done before finishing
1224. the mission Complications. First, to trigger the event, make sure the most
1225. recent save file is the one you want to obtain this on. Enter GTA:O and start
1226. a session. Then, return to single player. With luck, this event will trigger.
1227. Once it has triggered, pursue the Taxi in Franklin's Buffalo and pull in
1228. front. Force the driver from the vehicle, either by shooting or by ramming it
1229. repeatedly. Once he's out, attempt to enter the Taxi. You will fail because it
1230. is UJ. Now, switch back to GTA:O (you can do this via the character switch
1231. wheel; select the bottom slot). Once in, return once again to single player
1232. (easily doable via the character wheel again). If done correctly, the Taxi
1233. should be parked nearby, unlocked.
  1234. <<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>
  1235. --------------------
1236. STRATEGY 2: Get in a Towtruck (easily found outside the LSC garage near the
1237. Airport) to mark it as your "active" vehicle. Now, trigger an autosave as
1238. Franklin, and load that save. With luck, it will load the event, and the
1239. Towtruck will be waiting outside Franklin's house. Get inside and chase after
1240. the Taxi, and after catching it, hook it up. Tow it to a garage, and maneuver

1257. this scooter belongs to Trevor, and was not just appropriated from some poor

  1303. Difficulty: *
  1304. Required: Nothing
  1305. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  1306. **LSC trick
  1307. ----------------------------------------
1308. Description: This is a bright orange Bison, not to be confused with the actual
1309. "bright orange" color. The actual color is somewhere in between classic orange
1310. and bright orange, and cannot be replicated with any existing color. It also
1311. has unique lighting effects and what appears to be a bright white pearlescent
  1312. coloring.
  1313. ----------------------------------------
1314. STRATEGY 1: Once you reach the alley, run to the Bison and get in. The mission
1315. will fail once the window is broken. Choose to exit the mission, and Franklin
1316. will still be inside the truck (or standing right outside). Drive it to a
1317. garage. Sometimes this will not work, and the Bison will vanish after exiting
1318. the mission, but if so, just try again. This should be your go-to strategy
1319. unless you're really stuck-up about never ever failing a mission, ever.
  1320. ----------------------------------------
1321. (This strategy is for 360 players to obtain without mission failure)
1322. STRATEGY 2: Once the Vagos have been killed and the objective to catch the
1323. bike is displayed, get inside the Bison instead of leaving the alley. Use the
1324. Bison to knock the driver off the bike, and Lamar will drive it back to the
1325. meeting point. Once you've taken the bike there, it will be parked nearby. It
1326. is important that the biker is allowed to escape and that Lamar gets inside
1327. before killing the biker in order for this to be obtainable! If the biker is
1328. killed BEFORE Lamar gets inside the truck, it will be UJ after finishing the
1329. mission. Still technically obtainable, but needlessly difficult.
1330. <<Formulated by: Lancet Jades (lol232, fnxrak for the details)>>
  1331. ----------------------------------------
1332. (This strategy is for PS3 players to obtain without mission failure)
1333. STRATEGY 3: This vehicle is a bit harder to obtain without mission failure on
1334. PS3. Using the above strategy won't work because the Bison won't be at the car
1335. wash in the PS3 version. Proceed with the mission until all the Vagos are
1336. dead. Once they are, quickly run to the entrance of the alley. The target will
1337. appear for a moment before driving off. Shoot him off the bike at this moment.
1338. Once the objective appears to drive the bike back to the car wash, go get the
1339. Bison. Now, you must double-drive this and the Bagger to a LSC garage. Modify
1340. the Bison, then drive the bike to the destination and finish the mission.
1341. Afterwards, the Bison will be waiting in the police impound lot.
  1342. <<Formulated by: StuntmanSnake>>
  1343. ----------------------------------------
1344. NOTE: It has been reported that strategy 3 is unnecessary for many people,
1345. even on the PS3 version. Try it if strategy 2 doesn't work, but sometimes it
1346. is a matter of not killing the biker too quickly. Letting him survive a little
1347. while seems to solve the problem of the Bison vanishing, and killing him
1348. before he drives off may stop that from working on PS3 altogether.

  1402. ----------------------------------------
1403. Description: Sitting in Simeon's car dealership after the mission, this is a
1404. matte yellow BeeJay XL with a classic dark steel secondary color. The primary
1405. color is not equipped, despite being exactly the same as matte yellow. The
1406. roof (which is the secondary color) has a red pearlescent color to it, which
1407. is very unique considering that it only affects the secondary color, not the
  1408. primary.
  1409. ----------------------------------------
1410. RGO reason: The red pearlescent on the secondary color will disappear if saved
1411. inside an interior garage. Additionally, choosing to respray the primary color
1412. during customization will also remove the pearlescent (although the secondary
1413. color can be changed if desired).
  1414. ----------------------------------------
1415. STRATEGY 1: After finishing the mission, there will be vehicles inside the
1416. dealership. These will continually appear until finishing Father/Son. This is
1417. the BeeJay XL farthest inside the dealership. However, initially upon
1418. finishing the mission, this will be a red BeeJay XL. Load an autosave from
1419. after the mission, or drive a distance away and back, and it will now be
1420. replaced with this vehicle. This will continue to respawn no matter how many
  1421. are taken.
  1422. ----------------------------------------
1423. STRATEGY 2: This can be obtained after Father/Son by exploiting the game's
1424. imperfect loading of non-static obstacles. It is recommended to use Franklin
1425. to exploit his special ability for avoiding traffic. Drive down Adams Apple
1426. Blvd. (the street that Trevor's interior garage is on) to the west, towards
1427. the freeway overpass. After crossing underneath, the road ahead will look like
1428. a bridge. At this point, turn around and drive back towards the dealership.
1429. Drive at high speed towards the wooden cover in the corner where Franklin
1430. crashed the SUV in Complications.
1431. What should happen is the game will load a placeholder graphic for the wood,
1432. then remove it for a split second before replacing it with the actual solid
1433. obstacle. During this window of opportunity, you are able to drive inside and
1434. claim this vehicle. If the wood fully loads, just drive away and try again.
1435. If playing on an Xbox 360, consider making sure the play disc is not installed
1436. to a USB drive to maximize the game's loading time and increase the window of
  1437. opportunity.
1438. Once inside the dealership (and if this vehicle actually spawned; it won't
1439. always be there), get inside and call the other character to hang out. Switch
1440. to that character, and the game will teleport the one trapped in the
1441. dealership to outside, so that the meeting can happen. You can either scare
1442. off the other character or hang with them once the meeting happens, but
1443. afterwards, make sure to switch back to them to get control of this vehicle
1444. and finally be able to garage it. Really, you should try to get this BEFORE
1445. Father/Son and save yourself all this trouble.

1464. drive to Michael's house. Get an SUV or light truck on the way (something like

  1653. 7.3 - FIB w/ carbine rifle box
  1654. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1655. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1656. Mission: Carbine Rifles [M] (Vangelico Heist - Loud)
  1657. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  1658. --------------------
1659. Description: A regular FIB truck with a wooden box of carbine rifles in the
1660. back seat. This box is not found in these trucks outside of the target in
  1661. this mission.
  1662. --------------------
1663. Unobtainable: Failing the mission will cause the truck to disappear, and
1664. completing it will lead directly to the heist. Although the truck is driving
1665. around prior to the mission actually starting, it does not seem possible to
1666. cancel the mission and prevent it from starting. And since LSC won't touch
1667. police vehicles, the LSC trick won't work.
  1668. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1670. 7.4 - [Unique] Black Declasse Burrito
  1671. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1672. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1673. Mission: The Jewel Store Job [MF] (Heist - Loud)
  1674. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  1675. Unique license plate: [RW1602BO]
  1676. --------------------
1677. Description: The only unique feature on this black Burrito is its unique
1678. plate. It may seem like a standard plate, but it has four numbers in the
1679. middle instead of the usual three.
  1680. --------------------
1681. Unobtainable: This van is an essential part of the mission and does not exist
1682. outside of it. it will inevitably be left behind while escaping, and failing
1683. the heist does not give an option to exit the mission. Even if it did, it's
1684. highly likely the van would disappear anyways. And LSC will not allow
  1685. modification of this vehicle.

1688. 7.5 [Unique] "Bugstars" Declasse Burrito

1691. Mission: The Jewel Store Job [MF] (Heist - Smart)
  1692. Discovered by: Timcatgt
1693. Unique license plate: [TODO PT1]
  1694. --------------------
1695. Description: This is a Burrito with the Bugstars livery and a unique license
1696. plate. This van is not unique, despite seeming so, as they will randomly spawn
1697. in the Bugstars garage outside of this mission.
  1698. --------------------
1699. Unobtainable: This van is an essential part of the mission and does not exist
1700. outside of it. it will inevitably be left behind while escaping, and failing
1701. the heist does not give an option to exit the mission. Even if it did, it's
1702. highly likely the van would disappear anyways. And LSC will not allow

1709. Mission: Nervous Ron [T] (Trevor)
  1710. Discovered by: Skellington87
  1711. Unique license plate: [B3L13V3]
  1712. --------------------
1713. Description: This is Ron's blue quadbike, and it has a unique license plate
1714. that hints at his paranoia and conspiracy theory-based personality.
  1715. --------------------
1716. Unobtainable: This bike is UJ during the mission, and will be long gone by the
1717. time the mission is over. Failing the mission through any means and exiting
1718. will also cause it to disappear, leaving no options for obtaining it.
  1719. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1721. 7.7 - Cargobob w/ TPI graffiti
  1722. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1723. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1724. Mission: The Merryweather Heist [MFT] (Heist - Offshore)
  1725. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  1726. --------------------
1727. Description: A standard Cargobob with graffiti sprayed on it indicating it is
1728. now the property of "TPI," or Trevor Philips Industries. As Franklin points
1729. out, despite the graffiti, existing military logos are not sufficiently
1730. obscured so as to hide the fact it is a stolen military helicopter. Despite
1731. its checkered past, it performs valiantly as a bastion from which the gang can
1732. fight the New World Order's lizard army.
  1733. --------------------
1734. Unobtainable: This is only used during the mission, and vanishes before the
1735. mission ends. It will also vanish if the mission is failed and exited.
  1736. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1737. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1738. 7.8 - Black Declasse Burrito w/ rifle in back

1741. Mission: Caida Libre [MT] (Martin Madrazo)
  1742. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  1743. --------------------
1744. Description: This Burrito is loaded with a high-powered sniper rifle in the
1745. rear, used to shoot down the jet during the mission.
  1746. --------------------
1747. Unobtainable: It is required to be destroyed as part of the mission, and as it
1748. is a mission-important vehicle, any attempt to fail the mission while driving
1749. it will still result in it vanishing. LSC also will not accept this vehicle
  1750. for modification.

  1757. Discovered by: Timcatgt
  1758. Unique license plate: [MADRAZO]
  1759. --------------------
1760. Description: A black Baller SUV with a unique license plate spelling out
  1761. exactly who owns it.
  1762. --------------------
1763. Unobtainable: This is found at the end of the mission, but it drives off
1764. without a chance to obtain it.

  1773. --------------------
1774. Description: This secret agent-looking car is painted gray and looks really
1775. cool. Also has a unique license plate hinting that the JB stands for Bond.
  1776. James Bond.
  1777. --------------------
1778. Unobtainable: This is a mission-important vehicle that vanishes after the
1779. mission is completed, and will also vanish if the mission is failed, even if
1780. Franklin is still driving it. Also, LSC is closed during the mission,
1781. preventing the LSC trick from allowing it to be kept.

  1784. 7.11 - Barracks w/ armor boxes

  1789. --------------------
1790. Description: Just a normal Barracks truck with some boxes inside the bed that
1791. contain the heavy body armor to be used in the heist.
  1792. --------------------
1793. Unobtainable: There is no way to get the vehicle out of the mission, and even
1794. if there was, it is likely that the boxes would vanish, as happens with most
1795. "vehicles that contain a box."
  1796. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1804. --------------------
1805. Description: A bright yellow Monroe with a unique plate. Sleek design, high
1806. speed, and excellent handling will make you regret the fact that this is
  1807. unobtainable.
  1808. --------------------
1809. Unobtainable: This is a mission-important vehicle that vanishes after the
1810. mission is completed, and will also vanish if the mission is failed, even if
1811. Franklin is still driving it. Also, LSC is closed during the mission,
1812. preventing the LSC trick from allowing it to be kept.

1818. Mission: Pack Man [FT] (Devin)
  1819. Discovered by: Timcatgt
  1820. Unique license plate: [ALPHADOG]
  1821. --------------------
1822. Description: A bright red Stinger with a unique plate. Somehow manages to be
1823. even more unobtainable than the previous Monroe, as it is already on the
1824. Packer and cannot be removed.
  1825. --------------------
1826. Unobtainable: As mentioned in the preceding paragraph, this car is already
1827. loaded onto the Packer and cannot be removed, making this extra unobtainable.
1828. Even if the LSC trick worked in this mission, it wouldn't work for this one.

  1837. --------------------
1838. Description: This is a metallic orange Entity XF with black trim and a unique
1839. license plate. As with the Stinger in the same mission, this comes pre-loaded
1840. onto the Packer, and cannot be removed.
  1841. --------------------
1842. Unobtainable: As mentioned in the preceding paragraph, this car is already
1843. loaded onto the Packer and cannot be removed, making this extra unobtainable.

1870. Description: This secret agent-looking car is painted gray and looks really

1872. James Bond. This version also has spikes that can be deployed behind the car,
1873. and a machine gun that fires forward, at the perfect level for shooting
1874. through car windows to hit the occupants.
  1875. --------------------
1876. Unobtainable: Even though this car seems some action during the mission, it
1877. cannot be retrieved from the mission, and LSC garages are closed (not that you
1878. could get it to one during the time you're driving it, anyways).

1890. license plate. It comes pre-loaded onto the car carrier and cannot be kept.
  1891. --------------------

  1902. Unique license plate: [POPPYMI4]
  1903. --------------------
1904. Description: This is (supposedly) A Rapid GT that has a unique license plate,
1905. betraying that its owner is Poppy Mitchell. It is light blue, but the exact
1906. color is nearly impossible to pin down as it is unobtainable.
  1907. --------------------
1908. Unobtainable: It will vanish after the mission ends, and cannot be obtained
1909. before ending the mission. Failing the mission will cause it to vanish.

1915. Stranger (Franklin): Grass Roots - The Pickup (Barry)

  1917. --------------------
1918. Description: An Emperor with a unique blue color (both primary and secondary)
1919. and a stash box of marijuana in the backseat.
  1920. --------------------
1921. Unobtainable: The stash box in the back will vanish if the car is stored in
1922. a garage, or even if you switch characters to someone else and back. Even
1923. then, it requires sniping the truck from outside the mission start radius to
1924. even prevent it from vanishing, since the car will not start, and vanishes if
  1925. the mission is failed.

1931. Stranger (Franklin): Grass Roots - The Pickup (Barry)
  1932. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  1933. --------------------
1934. Description: A Duneloader truck with a box loaded onto the back, containing
1935. the marijuana stash that Barry needs. The truck's color is randomly determined
1936. from what seem like various grays.
  1937. --------------------
1938. Unobtainable: The stash box in the back will vanish if the truck is stored in
1939. a garage, or even if you switch characters to someone else and back. Even
1940. then, it requires sniping the truck from outside the mission start radius to
1941. even prevent it from starting; failing the mission (even while inside the
1942. truck) will cause it to vanish.

1948. Stranger (Trevor): Vinewood Souvenirs - Tyler (Nigel)
  1949. Discovered by: Lancet Jades
  1950. --------------------
1951. Description: This is a bronze Speedo van with a rake and a bag of gardening
1952. tools in the back. There is also a helmet in the back of the van, but this will
1953. most likely fall out as soon as the vehicle accelerates.
  1954. --------------------
1955. Unobtainable: The only unique feature (the gardening equipment) will disappear
1956. once the vehicle is refreshed, whether in an interior garage, safehouse
  1957. garage, or even impounded.

  1960. *8* RARE VEHICLES
  1961. ==============================================================================
1962. These vehicles aren't anything inherently special, but are nonetheless unique
1963. for various reasons, often requiring completion of a mission or side mission
1964. to unlock. These can all be obtained at the end of the game without any
  1965. problem.
1966. In GTAV, this also includes each character's personal vehicles, which are
1967. persistent objects in-game, and will retain all modifications and upgrades
1968. even if lost or abandoned. These personal vehicles cannot be stored in
1969. interior garages, and will usually not properly save even in normal safehouse
  1970. garages.

  1976. Unique license plate: [FC1988]
  1977. **No interior garage
  1978. **Persistent vehicle
  1979. --------------------
1980. Description: The proud tradition of the Buffalo as a high-powered muscle car
1981. continues, albeit with it classified as a "sports" car in this game. This is
1982. an excellent car with amazing acceleration, speed, and handling when fully
  1983. upgraded.

  1990. Unique license plate: [FC88]
  1991. **No interior garage
  1992. **Persistent vehicle
  1993. --------------------
1994. Description: This is a rather mediocre motorcycle that is given to (read:
1995. forced upon) Franklin by Lamar. It is not necessarily a bad vehicle, but its
1996. acceleration and handling leave something to be desired when it competes with
1997. the likes of the PCJ 600 and Bati 801.
  1998. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2006. Unique license plate: [LAMAR G]
  2007. ----------------------------------------
2008. Description: Lamar's van seems to be an ice white Speedo that has a unique

  2024. **No interior garage
  2025. **Persistent vehicle
  2026. --------------------
2027. Description: A black four-door sedan with good statistics across the board.
2028. Not a bad car, but rather unremarkable given how saturated the game is with
2029. sedans. Both the primary and secondary colors are classic black.
  2030. --------------------
2031. NOTE: When this vehicle is returned after Monkey Business, all previous
2032. modifications will have been stripped, and new ones applied.

2035. 8.5 - Green "ProLaps" Caddy w/ golf club bag

2038. Unlocked: When Golfing becomes available as an activity.
2039. Found: Start a game of golf and choose to drive to a hole.
  2040. --------------------
2041. Description: This is a green caddy with a ProLaps livery. What makes it
2042. special is the presence of a blue golf club bag on the back. You would think
2043. most caddies on the golf course would have one, but alas, no.

  2069. **No interior garage
  2070. **Persistent vehicle
  2071. --------------------
2072. Description: This Issa has a unique plate and is metallic yellow with a
2073. shadow silver secondary color. The secondary also seems to have a random
2074. pearlescent color. Since this is a persistent vehicle in-game, it is likely
2075. that the pearlescent is determined when starting Daddy's Little Girl, since
2076. that is the first time this vehicle appears. However, the vehicle sometimes
2077. spawns in the driveway prior to this mission, and if it does, the pearlescent
  2078. will be determined then.

2085. Unique license plate: [BETTY 32]
  2086. **No interior garage
  2087. **Persistent vehicle
  2088. --------------------
2089. Description: A rugged and robust pickup truck that handles fairly well in the
2090. desert of Blaine County. Its speed and acceleration are not the greatest,
2091. although upgrades will make it a formidable vehicle. The wheels of this truck
2092. are the default off-road wheels, but they do not show up as equipped; a
  2093. slightly unique attribute.
  2094. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2095. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2096. 8.9 - "Lost" Declasse Gang Burrito
  2097. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2098. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2099. Unlocked: When random events become available (for the first chances).
2100. Found: In various random events, switch events, and missions. The best
2101. recurring source of this vehicle is in random missions at the Scrapyard.
  2102. **No interior garage
  2103. --------------------
2104. Description: This is a larger version of the Burrito van, with a black and
2105. red paintjob and the "Lost" biker gang's livery. Unlike the normal Burrito,
2106. this cannot be stored in interior garages unless using the trick in section
  2107. 3.3.
  2108. --------------------
2109. Missions this vehicle may also be found in:

2115. 8.10 - "Smoke on the Water" Brute Pony
  2116. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2117. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2118. Unlocked: When Franklin purchases "Smoke on the Water."
2119. Found: In "Smoke on the Water" random property missions.
  2120. **No interior garage
  2121. --------------------
2122. Description: A normal van, like many others, but with the livery for the
2123. prescription marijuana shop "Smoke on the Water." The van is black, with a
2124. green marijuana leaf motif for the front.
  2125. --------------------
2126. --STRATEGY: To obtain this, first store a Towtruck at the Floyd's house
2127. parking spot. Wait for a Smoke on the Water mission to appear, and then obtain
2128. the van and return it to the store. It will now be UJ. Fetch the Towtruck from
2129. the nearby parking spot at Floyd's house and tow the van there. Leave and
2130. return (or save and load) and it can be driven! However, it is still unable
2131. to be stored in an interior garage normally, so either keep it in a normal
2132. garage (such as Floyd's), or use the trick in section 3.3 to put it into an
  2133. interior garage.

2214. *9* SET LICENSE PLATE VEHICLES
  2215. ==============================================================================
2216. These vehicles are ones that are only even remotely special because their
2217. license plate is always the same. What sets these apart from unique plate
2218. vehicles is that these plates follow the normal random naming convention:
2219. 2 numbers, then 3 letters, then 3 numbers. These are most likely NOT actually
2220. unique or special, as they could theoretically be created randomly in normal
2221. gameplay at any point. I'm only including this section because people would
2222. complain if I just ditched these vehicles from the guide LIKE I SHOULD.
2223. Remember, these vehicles are only here, in this section, because their "set"
2224. license plate is the ONLY thing making them special. Any serious special
2225. vehicle collectors would turn their noses up at this section like a gourmand
  2226. rejecting dog food.

  2228. 9.1 - Silver Albany Cavalcade
  2229. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2230. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  2232. Difficulty: **
  2233. Required: Nothing
  2234. Discovered by: Timcatgt
  2235. Set license plate: [34MTA729]
  2236. ----------------------------------------
2237. Description: A metallic silver Cavalcade with its default pearlescent. The
2238. license plate is always the same, although it may not be truly unique, as it
2239. follows the random plate format and could theoretically be generated on any
  2240. random Cavalcade.
  2241. ----------------------------------------
2242. STRATEGY: After escaping the building and the grounds, Franklin will be tasked
  2243. with losing a three-star wanted level in a conveniently-provided Jackal. Look
2244. down the street to the northwest and the Cavalcade will be parked on the side
2245. of the road. Get in, escape the cops, and finish the mission, then take it to
  2246. a garage.

  2256. Discovered by: Timcatgt
  2257. Set license plate: [81TDS937]
  2258. ----------------------------------------
2259. Description: A nice-looking Oracle with a galaxy blue paintjob (primary and
2260. secondary), and an unknown pearlescent. It has a set license plate, and is
2261. apparently used by agent Dave Norton.
  2262. ----------------------------------------
2263. STRATEGY: As soon as the mission begins, drive into the food court of the FIB
2264. building and ram the two agents sitting at the table. This will fail the
2265. mission. After exiting, drive to a garage. Interestingly, hitting the nameless
2266. agent near the car will NOT fail the mission, and Dave says he'll just pretend
2267. he didn't see that happen.

  2284. --------------------
2285. STRATEGY: During the mission, take the car to LSC and modify it in some way.

  2297. Set license plate: [88OHS995]
  2298. **No interior garage
  2299. **Persistent vehicle
  2300. --------------------
2301. Description: This is a rental car that Michael possesses after his car is
2302. taken following Did Somebody Say Yoga? Not a particularly amazing car, but it
2303. gets the job well enough. The red color seems to be unique, though, and not
2304. exactly similar to any existing colors.
  2305. --------------------
2306. STRATEGY: Although technically a persistent vehicle, this is lost forever
2307. after finishing Monkey Business. As a result, this vehicle is actually
2308. classified as a "special" vehicle due to its set license plate (which isn't
2309. truly unique, unlike other persistent vehicles' plates). The only way to keep
2310. this is to use the 3.3 trick to put it into an interior garage. There's no
2311. way to preserve its persistent property, though, since putting it in the
2312. interior garage will strip the persistence from it.

  2328. ----------------------------------------
2329. STRATEGY: First, get a Towtruck, from the LSC Garage near the Airport if
2330. needed. Next, drive to the mission start location (it's in Vinewood Hills) and
2331. fire a shot near Nigel to scare him off, cancelling the mission. This is

2405. This is a list of all vehicles in the game, along with their make and class.

2407. and the make afterwards. The model is the traditional GTA vehicle name, while
2408. the make and class were mostly left unknown in-game.
2409. In-game, when inside a vehicle, the game lists the make, model, and class in
2410. this order and format: [MAKE] [MODEL], [CLASS]
2411. If n/a is listed for the make, it means there is no make listed in the game.

  2698. *11* MISSION LIST
  2699. ==============================================================================
2700. A list of all missions in the game, along with what vehicles are available in
2701. those missions. This list is the order used to sort the vehicles. Strangers
2702. and Freaks missions are also listed. While the 100% checklist mentions 20 of
2703. these missions, there are actually many more, with only some of them counting
2704. towards the actual 100%. These list all of the missions, regardless of whether
  2705. they count.
2706. Some missions do not count towards the 69 required for 100% completion, but
2707. still have an entry in the Replay Missions list, as well as award a medal
2708. based on completion of optional criteria (that count towards the 70 gold
2709. medals achievement). These will be denoted with an asterisk (*) and numbered
2710. with the same number as the previous mission in the list. This keeps the
2711. numbered missions at 69 total while still including these "non-mission"
  2712. missions.
2713. Note that the characters listed as participating in each mission are basded on
2714. which actually is part of the mission, and not who the game awards completion
2715. of the mission to. For example, only Michael gets credit for finishing
2716. Prologue, but both he and Trevor are part of that mission.

2974. discover dozens more vehicles in the future. Also discoverd how to save any
2975. vehicle at interioer garages!!! And how to duplicate vehicles.
  2976. Timcatgt
2977. ~Found numerous special vehicles (most of which have not been added yet). Many
2978. of his finds were vehicles that were not very visible and easily missed.
2979. Really, he's by far one of, if not THE most prolific special vehicle
2980. discoverer person thingy for GTAV thus far.
  2981. ==============================================================================

2993. Completed a few more missions.
  2994. 0.28 Completed October 25th, 2013.
2995. Finished a lot of stranger missions and another story mission. Bigger updates
  2996. next week!

  2999. 0.40 Completed November 4th, 2013.
3000. Made more story progress, and added a bunch of vehicles that Timcatgt found.
  3001. 0.50 Completed November 8th, 2013.
3002. Even more main story progress, and some fixes and addition things completed
3003. (like the safehouse list... I think). Also ran a spellcheck on the guide. It
3004. was much needed. fnxrak found a third copy of Nigel's blue Premier, and
3005. Arthur Heng filled me in on the garage mechanics, especially Floyd's house.
  3006. 0.52 Completed November 11th, 2013.
3007. A bunch of new tactics, including storing any vehicle in interior garages,
3008. duplicating vehicles, and modding vehicles during missions to keep them
3009. afterwards. Great work, StuntmanSnake and Arthur Heng!!!
  3010. 0.55 Completed November 18th, 2013.
3011. fnxrak found a wat to get both the Cheetal and Entity XF from I Fought the
3012. Law. Also... other stuff. Maybe? Also more garage info from Arthur Heng,
3013. mainly when certain garages are lost.
  3014. 0.60 Completed November 26nd, 2013.
3015. A blank plate Cavalcade after Predator, and added a blank plate Blista from
3016. I fought the law that I had overlooked. Also covered A Starlet in Vinewood.
  3017. 0.75 Completed November 29th, 2013.
3018. Made more story progress and added vehicles accordingly. Also removed the
3019. online trick as it is apparent that it only works before finishing the
3020. mission Complications early in the game. Also improved the formatting of
3021. the vehicle sections a lot, better distinguishing between different entries
3022. and sections. Split main sections into "unique/blank plates" and "other
3023. special things," and also made a special "set plates" section to quarantine
3024. them away from all the vehicles that are ACTUALLY special.
  3025. 0.76 Completed December 27th, 2013.
3026. Columbo reported a way of getting both blank plate vehicles from I Fought the
3027. Law, and a way to access inside Simeon's dealership after Father/Son (up until
3028. finishing the last setup mission for the first heist). Also a bunch of other
3029. small additions I can't be bothered to keep track of.
