  1. Sairat (English: Wild) is an Indian 2016 romance film starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. It is directed by Nagraj Manjule and produced by Nagraj Manjule, Nitin Keni, and Nikhil Sane under the banner of Aatpat Production, Zee Studios and Essel Vision Productions. The music, produced by Ajay-Atul, was released on 6 April 2016. The film was released in India on 29 April 2016.[4] It becomes the biggest weekend opener for marathi film breaking record held by Natsamrat.[5] Sairat becomes first marathi film to cross ₹79.66 crore (US$12 million) mark.[6] It will be remade in Telugu, Gujarati and Hindi.[7][8][9]
  2. Plot
  3. The film follows the story of Parshya, a low-caste young boy, and Archie, a daughter of a rich "upper caste landlord", who fall in love despite opposition from society that they must not be together. When their relationship is discovered, the couple is faced with violence and many challenges before they leave for the city.[10]
  4. In the city the couple get married and have a child. Even as they are building their life, they are discovered by Archie's family. Her family kills the couple, but their child is spared since he is not at home when the massacre occurs. The film ends with the crying child running away from the scene of his parents' murder, leaving bloody footprints on the concrete pavement.
