i missed the insecurity signal…where can i read about that?
Maybe this comment is misplaced now, but she told me once re an ex-bf “it was his job to call.” That may have been the case with him, and I could do that too, but I prefer the occasional indication of interest and think maybe the apparent role reversal for this relationship would make it different and not boring. taking from the taker? am i wrong?

“she told me once re an ex-bf “it was his job to call.””
.
You can decide how you feel for yourself, but I usually lose faith in people when I hear them projecting responsibilities and duties onto other people.

Addendum: in social dynamics there is a place for a “I made the last move, it’s the other person’s turn.” I just hear so much “masculine obligation” language from women that I assume that’s what motivates them when I hear them say it’s “the man’s job” to take this or that next step.

i posted here to give a male perspective since the comments seemed heavy on girls wondering, and so I figured I’d throw out a possible answer. hopefully I didn’t hijack this thread.
she hasn’t given me a duty yet, as far as I can tell. i know from her friends that she is already bad at keeping in touch and almost never makes phone calls, only bbm/text/gchat. however, she usually responds relatively quickly to mine.
this game takes so much will-power.

My instinct is to double down on communication when things are going well, I concur that it takes a lot of discipline to step away and let the hamster spin for a bit…
