Saw this idea a long time ago online and realized I need somewhere to put my books since they kept falling over and off my dresser. If is real simple and cheap and looks pretty awesome when finished if you ask me.
I bought the lumber and cut it into 3 ft pieces. Bought a drill bit to bore out the holes (1 1/8in I believe) for the bottle mouths to rest in. I sanded and stained the wood so it would look nice. I then added the hooks in between the bottle so you can't see them, and used a turn buckle to tighten and hold the shelves together/sturdy.
I plan on adding another level or two once i hit up one of the local wineries for some more bottles, or just drink more myself ha.
I also have a new project I am starting this week. I am going to put my new 40 gallon fish tank on this ledge in my house and then add a base behind it using cinder blocks and some plywood to help support. I can't wait to get it set up there, right between the kitchen and living room, it fits perfectly. And this is the quick layout I made for it.
