Interested in trying out some local cuisine in Grand Rapids, while shopping at the same time? Choose a hotel near the Downtown Market, such as The Leonard at Logan House. The Downtown Market contains a variety of food stalls, retail stores, and even a rooftop greenhouse, making it a great place to grab a bite or purchase some souvenirs. The museum allows visitors to step inside a recreation of the Oval Office, see the original Watergate burglary tools, and visit the burial site of President Ford and his wife, Betty. The museum contains hands-on exhibits and workshops, including robot building and creating giant bubbles. The Heritage Hill Historic District is only a five-minute walk from downtown and features historical homes, the Meyer May House, and popular restaurants such as the Lyon Street Cafe. The Crowne Plaza Grand Rapids - Airport is located along I-96 and has both free parking and a free airport shuttle. The Hampton Inn is also located next to I-96 and has free parking and breakfast for guests. The Delta Hotels by Marriott is in the Ridgemoor neighborhood and has free parking plus an on-site Starbucks cafe. Travel Happy® with Drury Hotels. Second the experience we had was below par for the price and even just as a regular person staying at a hotel. This is because of the incompetent and even rude service of Ben at the front desk. While we were enjoying the hot tub with another couple at close to 10pm, a young child who was unattended PUKED in the hot tub. The other apologized to us, but Ben was rude and made no attempts to improve the situation. Calling the police would have been a waste of time for public servants, we didn't have loud music playing, we were simply talking at normal volume. The biohazard left unclean in the hot tub however could truly be dangerous. Not sure what they were thinking but Ben must be too immature to handle a management position on a busy weekend. It was just bizarre. Also, the front desk attendants recommended we grab a drink at the restaurant attached. We walked over to find the restaurant is closed for renovations. It's attached to the Hampton -- how could the front desk staff not have known it was closed? We're pretty easy going people, but this was seriously way below our expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are so many places to stay in Grand Rapids and the city as a whole is very affordable, so steer clear of the Hampton Inn.
