PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Some fortunate carriage steeds in Philadelphia got a mid year treat after a truck spilled a heap of watermelons in the city close Independence Hall.
The driver of the truck, Elwood Hutt Jr. of Salisbury, Maryland, tells WPVI-TV (http://6abc.cm/2vGM5Hz ) he had wanted to pitch the melons to merchants on Sunday when he said he took a corner too quick and the heap fell onto sixth Street.
A few people purchased the surviving melons for their children while steeds utilized for carriage visits assisted with the cleanup by eating the crushed organic product.
Police issued Hutt a reference. He says the incident additionally cost him about $250 in melons.
