It's so much more than just getting intimate!
According to Indian traditions, the first night of marriage, the suhag raat is one of the most crucial ingredients of the relationship that is about to start. It's called the beginning of a marital bond between the couple in which many elements play an active role, like the glass of milk, the decoration with roses and some exciting-aka-tension sex thrown in. These things are what we already know.
But I think, it's time to take the lid off. To change the record, there are so many other things that also happen on the first night after marriage. These things are often not-to-be-shared-stuff, but it's important to know. Like often the first night after marriage is majorly about some oops moments, crying, fights, sometimes love and sometimes nothing.
So, here I am today, sharing with you some real life stories confessed by Indian women that happened on their first night of marriage.
1. The drunk groom.
24% of women have said that they didn't make love on the night of their wedding night as their husband was too much drunk.
2. Night travelling to the honeymoon destination.
There are confessions that the couple often spends the night travelling to their honeymoon destination.
3. Parents next door.
When your bedroom is just next to your parent's bedroom, what can you even do? Women confessed that due to having such a clash, some just slept watching movies. While those who were excited, they kept it low.
4. Tried but didn't happen!
A woman revealed that the first night of her marriage was a bit unexpected. As she didn't have any idea what to do, but her husband had some. But, the issue was that both were virgins. So, they tried, but later when she shouted with pain, they didn't do it.
5. It came too soon
Some weddings are pre-planned. Like the couple gets engaged months before the marriage. Women reveal that this increases the excitement of the first night when the couple could hardly wait for the day to end. But sometimes this excitement leads to embarrassment when the husband has already come.
6. Idea clashes.
There are different communities, and each community has its personal beliefs. In the token to this, a woman revealed that she didn't even spend the night with her husband till two days after marriage. It's because of the Bengali tradition called Kaal Ratri, about which the bride was totally unaware.
7. Such a tiring day.
Women also revealed that after such a hectic day, often the couple doesn't do anything but decides just to call it a night and sleep. Some women also confessed that they get too tired that they just pretend to sleep.
8. Partying with the guests.
According to women, most of the time, the whole night after the wedding is with the guests or family. And in such an atmosphere, the couple doesn't even get a chance to spend the night together, just the two of them
9. Fights and argument.
It's not just by women, even men claim that most of the wedding nights are more an argument junction. It may be before the reception, or after they get into their bedroom.
10. Some didn't even kiss.
After a long day smiling in front of cameras, women revealed that it's often difficult to even put up the strength to kiss the husband.
11. Pokémon is more important
A woman confessed that at their first night, she stopped her hubby in the middle of the act just to talk about Pokémon.
12. Watched 'Gone with the Wind'.
It gets a little embarrassing when it's the second marriage for both persons. But women disclosed that it was just weird at first, as later her husband gifted her a CD of their favourite movie, 'Gone with the Wind' and they spent the night watching a turbulent love affair.
