Try to take the advice of your matchmaker and be as open minded as possible — the perfect person for you is often someone completely different to your previous relationships. Two of my clients went out for their first date on a typical rainy London afternoon. One made a joke about Sir Walter Raleigh throwing down his cape as they approached a puddle with no obvious path around it. He literally swept her up off her feet and carried her across! Look instead for a connection, someone you could be friends with, laugh and enjoy amazing conversation together. Focus on the length and depth of the relationship, not just the fire. The key to finding love is to enter into dating with an open heart and open mind. It is always best not to have an ideal image in your mind. The greatest thing about love is that you not only love the similarities of the person but their differences as well. What is your favourite matchmaking success story? I had the privilege to talk to a client who was happily matched through us 10 years ago. They are now married and have two lovely children. It is always so great to hear that our clients are doing well and are so thankful for our support in their dating life, I just love helping my clients to gain the confidence to date again. Andy MacCabe Technology Sometimes people find love with the first person they are matched with and write in to say how we must be matchmaking geniuses. We take that as a huge compliment, but most often, successful matches happen quickly when people are open on the type of person they would like to meet and wholeheartedly embrace the process!
