Howto: change resolution/refresh rate in Xorg If you can't change your display resolution or refresh rate sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg.
And if you choose 1024 x 768 as default resolution, the virtual screen .. you can restart the X server with that resolution in the xorg.conf file.
