  1. Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino has reacted to his side’s surprised comfortable victory over European Champions, Real Madrid.
  2. The Premier League side thrashed Zinedine Zidane’s men 3-1 in the Champions League at the Wembley on Wednesday.
  3. The Argentine gaffer was left beaming after his side outplayed the reigning champions.
  4. Pochettino said Tottenham’s stunning win against Champions League holders Real Madrid has given Spurs great belief and confidence that they can compete with Europe’s elite.
  5. Tottenham booked their place in the last 16 of the competition with the victory, topping group H on 10 point.
  6. Dele Alli scored a brace, while Christian Eriksen was also on target in the game.
  7. Zidane’s Madrid suffered their heaviest Champions League group-stage defeat since November 2008.
  8. Pochettino said after the match, “I’m very proud of my players and I congratulate them. I’m so pleased for Dele and our fans.
  9. “The victory is so important for us and the players. It’s a win over Real so it’s great for the club and fans.
  10. “There’s a long way to go until the end of the season. What’s important is trying to achieve our challenge and target.
  11. “Of course, this win gives us great belief for everyone and confidence.
  12. “We are now in the next stage of the Champions League. But now it’s so important to compete against Crystal Palace [next weekend]. As a manager you can’t stop thinking.
  13. “I told you yesterday [Tuesday] that Dele was coming. It’s important for him – his debut in the Champions League this season. It’s important he felt good.
  14. “I feel a little bad for Toby Alderweireld we have to assess it [his injury].”
