  3. The hole point of this is so I can install a fresh installation of mysql but I cant because of the dependencies... This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or RHN Satellite. This one offered me no opportunity to install applications such as MySql and KDE. The easiest method to update PHP from older version 5.
  4. This is not the first time i have issues with this kind of problem. Probably, it's less headache!
  5. CPanel is failing to update because it doesn't find the glad version installed but yum is unable to install it because it's already installed. As mentioned in several links like andI am trying to clean un-install Hortonworks 2. There is a page on our Wiki which explains why there are dependancy difficulties with Asterisk Too is also a section in the wiki covering how to download and install asterisk from source. I guess, while doing copy-pasting it didn't got pasted fully. File contains no section headers. I was not exactly right : the dependency is not with the kernel, more exactly it's dahdi-linux-kmdl, con release dependant, that asks as dependency a specific version of dahdi-linux. In fact, I downloaded the rpms and made a yum localinstall following the same order as given on the wiki.
  6. CentOS - In that case, does the order I don't know their interdependence matter?
  7. Sometime ago I tried to install Steam on my CentOS 5 server and tried almost everything I found on Internet and it seems that I have been able to leave libstdc++ installed and not installed at the same time. CPanel is failing to update because it doesn't find the correct version installed but yum is unable to install it because it's already installed. ¿How can I fix this situation and reach a consistent state? Nothing to do yum remove libstdc++-4. No Packages marked for removal yum reinstall libstdc++-4. However, after several trials and errors I was able to fix that. The key is to use full name of the package, i. The main point is, that removing one of the packages would require physical removal but removing the other of the two will just remove the rpm DB record and thus bring the database into a consistent state. In my case I could see I also had coreutils-8. When I told yum to remove the other one yum remove coreutils-libs-8.
