NEW YORK — After thousands of Delta passengers were left stranded Monday due to a global system outage, Delta is extending their travel waiver period and offering compensation to those traveling Tuesday.
More delays and cancellations are expected Tuesday, according to Delta. The airline expects roughly 200 delays and 100 flight cancellations as they work to restore operations.
Customers are urged to check the status of their flight at delta.com or on the Fly Delta app. Flights can be rebooked on the website.
Delta is also offering $200 in travel vouchers to all customers who were delayed more than three hours or had their flight cancelled as a result of Monday's outage. Vouchers are available for all Delta and Delta Connection flights.
About 1,000 flights were cancelled Monday after a power outage at Delta's headquarters in Atlanta that affected systems worldwide.
