yes both are helpful for seo. But Nofollow taged blods are nt considered to gain Page rank
Nofollow are for not crawling a link by search engine. Dofollow allow search engine to crawl links. Nofollow tag we can use if we are using a link for reference not for crawl. Both are good for human traffic.
A nofollow link means, Google will not follow that particular link and will not give any link value. Dofollow links get value from Google and help in improving SERP and PR of that url.
nofollow links are not helpful for better rankings
Nofollow links do not pass pagerank juice but some nofollow links helps to getting traffic.
Dofollow links will give you higher page rank over time where Nofollow links will not, but you should have nofollow and dofollow links this way it looks natural.

Dofollow = Common links
Nofollow = Search engine bots will still follow this link but give no weights to where is linking to.
