  1. The wait is over for all windows phone users as the Windows 10 Mobile OS will now run on x86 chips. This news appeared on the Microsoft web page. It will be the very first version of Windows Phone that will be compatible with new x86 chip. Previously, Windows Phone were only running on ARM-based chip sets manufactured by the Qualcomm.
  2. Microsoft and Intel joined hands last year in order to produce windows phone with low coast and also some phablets that can run on Atom X3 chips.
  3. Intel already said in this regard that:
  4. “Atom X3 smartphones would be priced as low as $75. But the current version of the chip is only 3G capable, which may have caused mobile phone makers to hesitate — so far, no handset manufacturer has come out with a Windows phone running on the Atom X3. Faster Atom X3 chips with integrated LTE capabilities will be in handsets this year, however.”
  5. Both companies historically showed intentions to collaborate with each other in the field of PCs but unfortunately failed due to its incline towards Windows Phone. As IDC reports that Intel badly failed in this area by only shipping 31.3 million phones world world in 2015.
