  22. Follow these steps to ensure ZERO downtime and to ensure a seamless move to your new host.

  39. #1. Are you asking as a customer?
  41. If yes, then you can ask the new web host to do it for you. They will need the login information to the old/current account to move everything for you. Most will do it for free or charge a fee. Those that do transfers for free...ask them if there's a limit (free until XXX GB's or free for XX domains and a fee for additional domains).

  45. If you're using cPanel, then you can do a host to host transfer. If you're not using cPanel OR come across a that has disabled cPanel backup function, then go to #3.

  68. I always find marking the homepage on the files on your new host account in a way you will see it, but it will not be that obvious to anyone viewing your site, then once you see this when you visit your site you know that your site have fully migrated

  78. That's a good idea actually! Adding a simple html code/text, at the footer for example, would accomplish this perfectly.

  83. Both are great ideas. With the footer idea, it could as simple as adding an extra period which no one would notice.

  119. the problem with doing that and using the cpanel backup system to create backups is if your site is 10GB then the server must have at least 10GB free space as how it works is cpanel creates a full duplicate of your site files and then compresses these into the .tar.gz file. and then you have to download the .tar.gz file to your local PC and them upload it to the new server and them uncompress it.
