7 reasons some people hate reading - But while enticing us to read of our own free will during the one time of year we're not locked up in school is a daunting task, here are a few books that can steal even the most reluctant readers away from Guitar Hero — if only for a few hours. I am an avid reader of books books for people who hate reading I really hate e-books. For me it's all about the ritual. Opening a new book touching the crisp yellow pages, the sweet smell that fills you up and the actual physical connection with the words. A book develops a real connection books for people who hate reading you. Holding it, keeping it in perfect shape, building your own personal collection, using bookmarks funny or inspiring to mark your favorite passages, its all the part of the journey you take with it. Some people might feel I am over romanticizing the situation but it stands true for me. I tried reading an e-book once. It had all the right words but it lacked the soul stands true for the pirated books too. It has much to do with the stigma associated with it rather than some real problem they have with it. For me and for many e-book reader I presume it is more about the story or information rather than the ritual of reading itself. I read to know the story rather than for the intricate experience of reading, though it is a pleasant delight when i get to experience the experience of reading rather than just reading. If you go about it the legal way, the e-book and the physical book cost more or less the same and people would rather just buy the physical copy of it. This I speak from personal experience. One of my friends had the usual - I don't read because I don't like e-books excuse. However, he also failed to read a paper book when it came to reading. This is actually a real issue, especially while reading on non-specialty devices - such as a phone, tablet, computer screen etc. Kindle and other readers don't have this problem. Discomfort - Applicable mostly for cumbersome and heavy devices like Desktops, Laptops etc. Again, Kindle solves this - being lighter and smaller than your average paperback. The usual resistance to change and anything new. People hated printed books too, when they were introduced and handwritten books were the norm, which sounds laughable now that we're used to printed books. Some people like the feeling of a paperback in your hands, the ability to just flip through pages. The musty smell of old, yellowed pages. The smell of freshly opened books. The sight of a bookshelf filled with books that you can pick up and read. I'm one of those people. And e-books are never going to be able to match that. That said, the sheer convenience and cheapness of e-books means I nowadays do most of my reading with e-books. Especially with the Kindle, which removes as many of the above issues as it is possible to remove. Of course, I love reading paper books. The experience of reading an actual, physical book is of a different level entirely.
