The most famous tourist attraction and national landmark in the entire country of Peru is the Machu Picchu. The Machu Picchu is a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary as of 1981. It is also recognized as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as of 1983. The site was also voted online as part of the New Seven Wonders of the World wherein 100,000,000 votes all over the world determined Machu Picchu as a deserving site for the list.
