I'm a bit slow when I develop in c++. Not sure if last update date is needed but we'll see. Technically, by the letter of the new Apple guidelines, the Steam Link app is fully in compliance as I bought a key for a crate and not software. The company previously said that it's working with Valve to fix the situation, so expect the application to be compliant with those guidelines.
First published June 5, 12:50 p. Yes I'm up for a split where you can take the client side and I work on the server side. It's likely Valve knew better, but wanted to see if they could sneak it in. I'm more of a back-end guy, hahaha.
However, in response to customers asking Apple to reconsider, Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller reportedly said in emails that the Valve app violates a number of the company's guidelines. Video and audio data is sent from your computer to the Steam Link, while your controller input is sent back in real time. The app, originally set to launch May 21, will include support for both the Steam Controller and Made for iPhone controllers. We need to take decision about adult content if it comes to the Link, should we ban it, or authorise it with an option If we want to go to next level, we can create a build system, where peoples upload the source code of the project and a server build the package. We put great effort into creating an App Store that provides the very best experience for everyone. The idea of the biggest computer company in the world selling billions of computers inviting everyone to write apps for them, but then specifically not allowing their competitors sell their games on it. The company touted at the time that the app would allow users to experience their Steam library on their Apple devices. We have clear guidelines that all developers must follow in order to ensure the App Store is a safe place for all users and a fair opportunity for all developers.
Valve says Apple has rejected its Steam Link app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV - But we hope Apple will reconsider in the future.
I'm kinda interested to see how people are creating apps for the Steam Link. I got my link today, not tested yet. I found this post while searching if anyone start this kind of project. I'm a dev and I was thinking about start something like that. So if you need help. I think I will be ready to start working on a project in a week or less. Due to the holidays and some other project I'm currently at a standstill but I would love to do a colaboration of sort : painejake and I over on have started a little repo for compiled packages I can't say I'm any good at or particularly know how to program, but would love to help out in keeping packages up to date. Originally posted by : painejake and I over on have started a little repo for compiled packages I tested your package, kodi crash about 30-45sec after launch, weird but I didn't search the log actually so I will create an issue on github when I have more elements. I really like this steam link. Have to warn you though, my schedule is really crammed with stuff right now. During initial development I don't see any problems with me hosting the back-end services on my server at home. I think also of a submission system, people who create package can submit package through a web interface, with name description screenshots. I'm a bit slow when I develop in c++. So during the next days I will try to see what are the possibility for me with python on the link, since python already have a lot of steam link app store about sdl and controllers I'm not to worried. Do you mean that it should be possible directly in the app store on the link or was that meant to be a part of the community webpage. Then having a simple ftp on the side wich hosts the actual packages applications I believe we should start very small and just get the core parts in place before expanding outwards with comment-sections, integrated bug reporting and a community. Comming to my programming skills, I have to say that they are somewhat constrained. I mainly work as a network-engineer but also have some web-developent on the side. I'm ok with both but If we decide to chose a part I prefer the client side. Yes I'm up for a split where you can take the client side and I work on the server side. Will you create a repository on GitHub or how do we work with the client proejct. Not sure if last update date is needed but we'll see. Also I think we need filesize and a checksum for easy version control.
