BITCOIN miners have stumbled upon a secret message from the Bible coded into BTC block 666,666, which is double the "number of the beast" from the Book of Revelation.
A Biblical message of hope was included in one of the most unlikely places imaginable, a bitcoin block on the flagship cryptocurrency's blockchain network. Bitcoin blocks are a permanent record of transaction data on the network, much like the pages in a stock transaction ledger. But the blocks also act as a very hard mathematical puzzle of sorts that bitcoin miners crack using powerful computers in exchange for financial rewards - btc tokens.
On Monday night, a secret message of scripture was found embedded into the code of BTC block 666,666.
The message contained a short passage from the Epistle to the Romans 12:21 and read: "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
The passage was unearthed by bitcoin enthusiast Emzy, who shared the discovery on the social media platform Mastodon.
