Fort Napoléon des Saintes is one of the forts being visited by thousands of tourists in Guadeloupe which is situated in Terre-de-Haut. The fort is being frequented because of its grim history. It was said that a young French maiden fell in love with a British officer. She was promised a life with him after his duty was done but she waited for years and he didn’t return. With that, she threw herself down below and the location of where she committed suicide was on the fort. Without knowing, the soldier came back only to find out that his love was dead. And with that, he jumped and killed himself too.
