  2. It is said that the clothing of a particular person depends upon the climate and geography of a place. India being a country with varied relief features and climate, the clothing also varies a lot there. As you move from one village to another, you will notice that the kind of clothes also keep on changing. India has always been known for its rich culture and heritage again which is one of the major factors for varied clothing.
  3. In India’s history people used to wear unstitched clothes even though they knew how to stitch, like dhoti and turban for the men and saris, dupattas for the women. Saris are common in India even today and it is worn in many different styles. A study showed that 99% of Indian men found a women wearing a sari more attractive than wearing short dresses.
  4. These days in India, male prefer wearing the Sherwani which is a long coat or a jacket that has exposed buttons through the length of the jacket. It is worn with a churidar which is a tight fitting pant, loose around the hips and thighs and along with a scarf. It is usually worn during festive and wedding occasions along with a scarf which is known as a dupatta.
  5. Clothing in India nowadays consist of both formal and casual wear such as pants, shirts and tops. Traditional Indian clothing such as the kurti and the kurta have been combined with jeans to form part of casual attire. Fashion designers in India have blended several elements of Indian traditional designs into conventional western wear to create a unique style of contemporary Indian fashion
