When I got to the shop, nobody told me I look fresh but I could feel it myself that I look fresher than ever.
Right after I entered the shop, I was just imagining her presence in the shop and the punchlines I will use on her when she comes. I didn't take it easy on myself at all.
Even though she wasn't there, I was sweating under fan with my heartbeat sounding like I was in a race.
Immediately I hear a lady's voice outside, I feel like she is coming. I was so sure that she will come. That day, I worked gently so that I won't get myself dirty when she comes in. I was so focused on getting my three points to the extent that I forgot to take breakfast and lunch. It was at 8:00pm that I realised I haven't taken anything for the day and that she won't be coming to the shop for the day.
I felt so disappointed in God for not letting my prayers come to pass and I was also disappointed in myself for being so timid and not asking her anything the first day she came to the shop.
Around 10pm, I was at home and that was when I got to know I have walked from the shop to my house which is about an hour and 20 minutes drive. As I tell you the story right now, I'm still laughing at myself for how far I took that love.
I was so disappointed that my mum and my brother could see that my day didn't go well. Non of them said anything to me because they knew when I had a bad day, I don't talk about it. That very day, I felt like asking my mother a simple question but I kept everything to myself. I didn't even eat before sleeping.
The next day, early in the morning I woke up. My mum thought I was going to leave the house without breakfast again. The next minute, she saw me warming stew in the kitchen. I never knew she was even looking at me until I turned my head and saw her peeping through the window.
Immediately I saw her, I knew she has recorded the story for another day. My mum will never forget to tease you when the right time comes. I didn't mind anyway because I didn't eat for more than 24hours because of love and I had to do what I had to do.
After eating, I took my bath, wore something normal and hopped into a taxi, threw away that love mind and off to work.
As I alighted and started walking to the shop which is about 6 minutes walk from the lorry station, I had the surprise of a life time.
