This is just what I have come up with. Your path may differ.
1. Quit any habits you have to tobacco, alcohol or harmful and addictive chemical drugs like meth or crack.
2. Exercise every day
3. Drink better water- drink unflouridated, unchlorinated water- either reverse osmosis purified or distilled. Add some lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to your water.
4. Write down all your dreams every morning in a dream journal in as much detail as possible
5. Meditate every day. Do both Chanting Mantra meditations and silent breathing meditations.
6. Eat a good diet. Recognize what foods seem to dull your mind or sicken your body and avoid those foods. Notice what foods seem to energize you and cleanse you and emphasize those foods.
7. Pray- This can take the form of formal or informal prayers. If you are not comfortable with the religious flavor of prayer you can substitute "affirmations" or positive thinking.
8. Spend time in nature and get away from digital distractions and other people as much as possible. Try to connect with the wilderness as best you can, whether it be a camping trip in the forest or just a walk in your local urban greenspace
That's all really. I have hope that simply following these 8 guidelines on a daily basis will be enough to allow me to access ever higher states of consciousness and ultimately, liberation and enlightenment.
