What a great writer, in the class of Wilbur Smith!! Tom was the middle child of three, born to Catherine Clancy, an employee in a department-store credit office, and Thomas Clancy, Sr. Blackwood and Greaney are very good writers, but they are both more in the vein of what Brad Thor does.
The ones I had a tough time with were the non-fiction, technical ones. In 1990, The Hunt for Red October was adapted into a film starring Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin. His writing is both intelligent and action-packed, and Marc has an impressive personal resume that I am sure he will work into the novels to great effect.
However my memory is failing somewhat. In 2008, the French video game manufacturer Ubisoft purchased the use of Clancy's name for an undisclosed sum. Hi all, I spend a lot of time driving so I personally have purchased all of the novels as audio books and have now listened to the complete series. Then my collection will be complete. He really went into detail about the units he was writing about — their make-up, missions,etc. As with all authors, some of their works are a bit boring, disappointing but for the most part are well written. Greaney for continuing my absolute favorite of all time stories. Scorched Earth was written by George Galdorisi.
