ODE TO MY BRAIN WORM
by Williem Mactingle
My dear brain worm
My dear, dear, dear, dear brain worm
My dear, sweetest brain worm
I can't stop thinking about you
My beloved brain worm
I literally can't
Because you're eating every other thought of mine
Every other bit of my cephalic flesh
Tearing apart each of my neurons
Sucking to the last drop my brain's fluids
Until all that is left is you
And you only
I would have a great deal of questions on yon times
How can you fill my mind like a thought?
How, if you are just yourself?
How can this wondrous creature in my brain
Be both a word and its meaning?
But those matters don't bother me anymore
Now, when there's only you and me left
And when you finally drown me in my own drool
And my body begins to rot around you
Encasing you with all my decomposing heat and love
Our little children will slide in slime goo from my decaying ears
Crawl across the ground until they find warm legs
And love
And then the whole world
Will genuflect
To my dear, sweetest, beloved brain worm
